Some Android tasks have come through and actually completed successfully!

But can I ask if the deadline can be increased as it seems to be set only 12hrs from download? My tasks are set to run for 8hrs, so I'm lucky to get anything back in time. 24hrs would be fine, but 48hrs would be better.

Sid, until they can change the deadlines, you might setup the Android host under a different locale. Then you could use a shorter target runtime specifically for that locale.

I added Rosetta to the BOINC manager on my Android v4.1.1 with approximately 400 MB of RAM this a.m. As soon as completed install, it downloaded my 1st WU with task 721434856. This WU ran successfully with its completion in late afternoon today. However, I've been unsuccessful in receiving any more WUs for this host. With every request I get the messages "Rosetta Mini is not available for your type of computer" and "Rosetta Mini needs 488 MB RAM but only 193 MB is available for use."

My question therefore is: How did I get that first WU if there was no change in RAM? Of note, mine was 3rd host to receive this WU as first 2 tasks timed out. I also note, while reviewing older posts on this subject, that not many Android WUs were being generated on an ongoing basis. Any increase in Android WU production? Thank you.

It might just be on the to-do list and not top priority.

How did I get that first WU

Is it possible that you modified your preferences after the first task downloaded? Perhaps limiting the amount of memory used by the BOINC Manager?

Sorry for the late reply. I've had to do a rebuild on my main computer and been out of commission for nearly a month.

Good idea. I hadn't thought of that. I'll take a look before the next batch comes through - none for a while.

October 2014...
Not sure about the timeline but once we get the hardware, we'll look into the software and coordinate the update.

News about new HW?

As you can see on the applications page, there's only Rosetta for Android running on ARM processors, not x86. So, no, you can't use it for Rosetta@home.

You can however use it for SETI and Collatz (and I believe WUProp as long as you are attached to another project supporting apps).

I've downloaded and terminated about 10 tasks with Ralph@Home but after that I haven't received any other task. I don't know why they are doing that

AMD Radeon Sapphire RX 480 4GB Nitro+
