I just found this thread and I can see this has been going on for some hours now. So, now I have to go through and abort all Rosetta wu's becaus it keeps my GPU wu's from working properly. The popup is exactly like clicking the "Show Graphics" button after highlighting a Rosetta wu, that's where the problem is. For some reason it's launching the "Show Graphics" portion of you're new program version.

Same problem here, it seems that the "no shared mem" message is a hint to the existing problem.

When looking up the WUs in my task manager, then the ones that work fine with the previous minirosetta (i.e. minirosetta_3.41_windows_x86_64.exe) use around 300-500MB on my systems memory, while the WUs with minirosetta 3.43 only use around 20MB of memory.

Furthermore, I looked up my recent messages from the BOINC manager window and discovered the error message described here with the 'faulty' 3.43 WUs:

I am getting a pop up on my system also. It is the graphical overview also available as screen saver.
Time elapsed is running, but cpu usage is zero.

The same for me;
- Graphical windows, but 'no shared mem'
- CPU usage = 0% for all 4 cores, but "Running"
- Elapsed and Remaining time the same for all tasks
- Memory usage 20 mb for per task

+1. I've just spoted this problem and had to stop processing of 3.43 tasks as these graphical pop-ups interfere hardly with my normal activity.

Same problem here on Win7 64bit with boinc 7, but rosetta 3.43 working fine on win 7 32bit and older 6.12.34 boinc.

Moderator David, We REALLY need an update. What's being done to correct this problem? When can I start accepting WU again? Please give us an update? Rick

Rosetta 3.43 is causing multiple pop-ups on my screen when running. If I close the pop-ups, others appear. The pop-ups do not happen with 3.41. This pop-up phenomenon has just started to occur, and has happened to me on two different desktops (both Windows 7,BOINC 7.0.28 x64). I had to abort the workunits, then the popups stopped. Rick

Same thing here. Windows 7 64 bit, client version 3.43.

It wasn't happening last night when I left my computer.

Same here. Screen saver launching in windows that are stuck with no shared memory. If you close them, they instantly re-spawn. If you leave them sit, they close themselves a few minutes later and instantly respawn.

It is only a problem on 64bit machines. The rosetta 3.43 exe, we all have downloaded, is in truth the screensaver application. Both applications have the same size and differend names. in the past had the apps never the same size.
our only thing to do is wait for a new build of the real rosetta 3.43 app. I hope then it is possible to download only the new exe without new WUs. A directory for manually downloads is "https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/download/".

It is the screensaver graphic and it also proves that you have not tested before releasing because you can't miss this.

Yeap, here in ralph@home we saw few wus. And with problems.
I cannot understand why pass on production...

All of my rigs are now showing these pop ups (W7 64 bit/W8 Preview 64 bit). I first noticed it last night and I've suspended Rosetta in BOINC and have returned to WCG. I'll monitor this thread waiting for a resolution before switching back to Rosetta.

Would others like to mention what operating systems they are or are not seeing this problem under? I am seeing it under 64-bit Windows 7. There are no R@H workunits currently on my 64-bit Windows Vista computers.

Problem also seen for RALPH@Home workunits, but I am currently unable to log in there.

I'm joining the group. Have similar messages/behavior popping up w/ Rosetta starts, second day.
Rosetta processing suspended on both active systems until fix is suggested.

Windows 7 Ulti 64, quad AMD, 16gb
Windows 7 Home Preemie 64, Intel dual, 8gb

Seti@home shared processing.

Btw, thank you for the opportunity to assist these endeavors.

sinspin is right.
Problem with pop-up and not working app on all 64bit Windows comps due silly error - new app version for 64 bit windows platform(minirosetta_3.43_windows_x86_64.exe) is actually is a screensaver app (same as minirosetta_graphics_3.43_windows_x86_64.exe - not only size match but CRC too).

So it's just mixed up files. All is needed it is only have to put the correct file as a version 3.44 (to force BOINC update files).

I haven't got the details everyone else has, but I too have a Win7 64-bit system running Rosetta@home, and I too am getting these silly pop-ups. They started a day or so ago which is probably when I downloaded 3.43. I'm subscribing to the list so I'll see when (soon, I hope) we get a fix.
