Hi all,
validator resumed his work ... some problems rest in place (WU with same score from claimed and granted) ... and no communication from Rosetta@home !

I'm a old italian programmer (do you know cards ?). Now, i recycle/repair old pc of my friends, and they revive for research.
A long trip begin with a little step ...

They need a course in communications. Pretty pathetic that no one can take the time to say anything. Some of us old guys might quit but there is always a bunch of new people that come to take our place. 62 people joined in the last day according to BOINC stats.

Good to have all credits caught up. My laptop had a faulty charger for a day or two, so I was expecting a poor day - so a nice bonus to come home to. Thanks all.

Hi.

Not able to upload results, all servers showing green!

Other projects are O.K.

Edit / It's working slowly now, i think the problem is these big task files size over 23MB's blocking up the systems.

Nearly 9 hours compute time.... Boinc tasks says the units are reported correctly.

"Client detached" is the message you see when someone clicks on the BOINC Manager to detach from the project. When you do this, BOINC removes all of the tasks from that project as well. In general, you do not want to detach a project that you wish to be running. If you feel you have to do so for some reason, you probably want to get all of your completed work reported in first.

Presumably you then attached again and this downloads all of the programs and a set of new work units.

The only time I would suggest detaching is if you have failure as the program runs that imply your copy of it might be corrupted in some way. Network failures, lack of work downloading and etc. are NOT resolved by detaching. It just gives the servers more work to do to get your machine setup again.

Chris, GPU is NOT supported by Rosetta.
This is strictly a CPU program.
If you want GPU work then have a look at world community grid or a program similar to Rosetta is Poem@home but I am not sure what is going on with their GPU tasks.

As far as CPU work goes, there is over 4,000 jobs waiting in queue to be processed by crunchers.

Pfft...what else is new.
I guess we are burning through the tasks faster than they can make them.
I guess I am changing my preferences to 12hr runs instead of 8.

Unlikely. These aren't random tasks that someone slaps up. They serve a specific purpose and have to be prepared. Rushing that may mean we get bad tasks come through. That's no good either. 2.6m just became ready, but it's already been described that a lot of preparation goes into that.

I guess I am changing my preferences to 12hr runs instead of 8.

One possibility, yes. I'm trying to load up some tasks before doing that though, and if insufficient come through I'll save up the opportunity of extending the runtime until after the holidays begin.

I made a mistake the other day, meaning a load of WCG tasks came down by mistake, but I'm tidying that up as I type. That should've been back-up plan #3

Hi.

Not so much a problem as a question, did Linux get graphics this time i was told it would a while back that it would be added.

I didn't notice anything that looked like it when it was downloading the new stuff.

EDIT// Well first ones running & guess what no graphics again very disappointing.

For a few weeks, POEM@Home has been saying that they're almost ready to start offering GPU workunits for both Nvidia GPUs and AMD/ATI GPUs, but not actually doing it yet. I suspect that they're waiting for the 7.0.* series of BOINC versions to get past beta testing.
