I don't see much point in my posting the links, I have over 50 of these wu types that have failed within a second on my all of my XP machines. All of them have Intel CPU's, 2 Quad cores, 1 dual core, and one single core.

My single Linux machine has not failed a wu, but it has not crunched very many. This also has an Intel, a dual core.

Seems to have started 30th, am still getting them now.

All 6 of these that I have run on my Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Core 2 Duo machine have failed, all within a second.

Oh well.

Rochester, a quick look at some of the workunits you were given indicates that there are now some Windows XP machines that succeed with these workunits, but only if they have significantly more memory cache and perhaps also more RAM memory for the workunits to run in than your machine has. It's not clear if this will also help your plain minirosetta workunits run correctly. It's possible that the missing file problem has been corrected at least some of these workunits intended for Windows, but you seem to now be having mostly a different problem.

Here's a place I've found that is good at matching memory to the machine model number:

http://www.crucial.com/

Even if your motherboard can't hold any more memory, you might be able to find someone more familiar with XP who can tell you how to increase the memory cache, even if you can't increase RAM memory to match, which is likely to be enough to make the workunits run properly on your machine, although somewhat slowly. This will take a little more disk space, though.

I have a Win XP with 2gig of RAM, tons of harddrive space, and my BOINC prefs set to use 100% of my computer's resources. I'm running 5.10.20. ALL of my "new score" WUs have crashed within .15 seconds of starting. Was having a little bit of a problem with some early RosettaMini WUs (now fixed), but that's all the problems this machine has ever had. In looking at the failed WUs on my Tasks webpage, all of my wingmen have also had failed WUs.

it is low ..im looking for memory for that old machine..but it was running ok not that long ago

System requirements for Rosetta indicate 256 MB RAM. 256 MB might not be needed for all tasks, but it seems 128 MB is a tad on the low side.

The Crucial web site I mentioned earlier led me to the place I found to buy more memory for my machine.

There's a possibility that some of the changes in Rosetta@home workunits and program versions have led to a need for more memory than before.
