I used to be a software engineer, for the last 15 years of my working life, in the embedded arena. A heart attack and cardiac arrest made me dead for 46 minutes. My heart was restarted, but during the outage I picked up anoxic brain damage which destroyed me, finished everything. I still exist.
A keen traveller, I've travelled on every continent except Antarctica, I tried to visit whilst staying at Cape Horn but our boat was driven back by bad weather 70km from the coast. Many memorable places, but the deep jungle trips in the Amazon and Congo basins leave a bigger impression on me.
Your opinions about Rosetta@home
Why do you run Rosetta@home?
I support the distributed computing ideals, and scientific research in general. It is not "why do I support it" rather, "why would I not".
