Yes, click on the Statistics link for more information. Right now it is not being updated that often but I will soon set it up so it will be, once I figure out how. :)

I am certain that if you send a query to the BOINC Dev mail list, you would get a response.

Figured it out, now it should update the files every 12 hours.

Working fine and updating beautifully.

I have updated my stats to include Rosetta@home stats. Here is an example (of the many pages) ... the team stats pages...

I changed the update interval to 24 hours. I was told this is the standard from David Anderson.

The projects that export XML do so at least once once per day. A few report more frequently (typically 4 times per day).

I would also like to see the xml stats updates more regularly. It seems to put a lot of people off when stats are only updated once a day. I can understand it when there are 100,000+ users in the system (like Seti), but surely for less than that the xml run doesn't take that long to run, so how about running it every 4 or 6 hours ?

Right now the project team have more important things to do, in my opinion, having just come back from a break to find one set of WU that overrun, some other wu that hang, people wanting credit for failed work which failed through no fault of their own, and in between all of that they may even want to find time to do some biochemistry.

They have already committed to establishing an alpha project to help prevent this kind of problem affecting so many users when it arises again (which it will, in the nature of software development).

I do not have an opinion about your request either way, but I have a strong opinion about its timing.

The time, in my opinion, to make this kind of request is when everything is running smoothly and no changes to the software are immediately coming.

This is a very responsive project - but that also puts the onus on participants to think of the project team and time their requests sensitively.

So, speaking only as a fellow participant -- I am not part of the project team nor a moderator or anything connected with these boards -- I personally would appreciate it if this request could be deferred to a more appropriate time.

UHM, what's up your ars :P.
Ment in a funny way.

Did i say it should happen now.
And i don't tink it takes much time too let the server export a file every 6 hours or every 3 hours.
So that the 3rd party stats makers can update more frequent.

None of the sites updates more often than every four hours, and at that they only look at the "delta" - the full xml is simply not needed more than four times a day. (Actually, twice is more than adequate, but four times, IF the server capacity is there, should satisfy even the most stats-addicted...) I don't know how long it takes to run the export at Rosetta, but at SETI it's over two hours.

And there is _never_ any reason to update the stats more often than the average run time for one result! What's going to change?

The project's OWN stats are "real-time" - if you want to watch your stats with _no_ delay, just keep hitting "refresh"!

Seti is much bigger btw.

But it's nice too have some nice updates because off the internal competion
@ Dpc (and others) we have subteams.

And if i read correct you say there is no regular timing.
AHA that's the reason when we hit f5 30hits/sec and not get anything new ;) :P
so we irregular updates :/, grrr now i can't plan my coffee break too wtch the latest stat updates .

Each project sets its own intervals based on hardware capacity and true need. CPDN, just went from 2x a day to one because of the load on the database.

The stat sites themselves also are going to soon probably hit a limit also ...

Limit reached on the host stats. The wreck my servers hard drive.....

At the moment calculating host stats takes almost two hours, and increases with about 5 minutes per day.

I already disabled the incremental update for hosts.

Yes, but if the richer people donated to BOINCstats or similar ( or project sites that use them  ) so more impressive hardware could be bought to bring the times down that would help.

Or how about if the project that use the BoincStats places their stats part on their own servers ?
