The last few errors reported all look like there was an error in the input files, not an error in the application program or an error specific to your computer.

Usually the first line containing ERROR: gives the error, and any others are only the result of the program not being able to continue properly after the error. Sometimes, additional lines of error messages are needed to pin down why the error occurred, especially if the error was in the program.

For this task, it looks like input file 00001.200.9mers was not sent along with the task and therefore could not be opened.

The other recently reported errors look more like the program found an error in one of the input files, and therefore could not continue properly past that point.

Uh, interesting.
But i don't care if the problem is the exe or the input files. I think that, if there are problems, it's better to resolve these.
In this thread we don't see admins since....i don't remember. I don't know even if they are reading this thread.
A message like "Ok, guys, we release soon a new kind of input files to resolve your errors" or even if simple "we are working on it", it's not difficult to write.
Or, maybe, they are not interesting in our "wasting cpu's time".

Mod.Sense is a great, but he is not an admin or a developer of the project.

Undoubtedly so. But if rjs5 can't get their attention, we have no hope.

Do we need to start threatening to move to other BOINC projects if we don't get more admin attention?

From their point of view, it may not be that serious. They are still sending out work and accepting results, so it is only the people who look at "validation pending" who see the problem.
It may just be that they are upgrading their server software and don't see any reason to notify us. That is not ideal customer relations, but not a crisis.

EDIT: we are back in business, and my credits are up.

What is the problem people are seeing? I just looked at my results and have nothing odd, no errors.

Good for you. But in this thread (and in others) people report errors/bugs, without any answer.
For example, me this morning the same error of 4 days ago:
ERROR: Unrecognized residue: DRH
ERROR:: Exit from: ......srccoreiopose_from_sfrPoseFromSFRBuilder.cc line: 1258
BOINC:: Error reading and gzipping output datafile: default.out
07:23:08 (13816): called boinc_finish(1)

My post implies there are no errors or bugs in the application as I crunch quite a few workunits. Your error lines indicate that there is a data error in the work unit, an unrecognised residue, (monomer), in a polypeptide, but you don't report the work unit, it is quite possible, however, that the project can find that out from looking at your results, which I, of course, cannot do. The final BOINC error is probably because the job failed to start, and therefore did not create an output file.

Again. I don't care if the problem is the application or the data.
If the problem is the application, debug the app.
If the problem is the data, work on data.

but you don't report the work unit

I report always if i have problems Message 90975, 08/05/2019
And this morning 1086416267
You can see also my reports on Ralph@Home during these years of volunteer in beta project.

The final BOINC error is probably because the job failed to start, and therefore did not create an output file.

Why i have NO problems with other projects (WCG, Tn-Grid, LHC, etc)?

Rather few people have write access to the server, which they need in order to add that file to the list of input files that need to be sent along with these tasks. Even fewer have a copy of that file or even know what it should contain.

The real problem is that too few admins are reading this thread, seeing the problem reports, and knowing who to contact in order to get them fixed.

Still nothing here. My machines are crunching, exporting, end of story. Windows 8.1 x64. Something strange is happening.

I wasn't seeing them here either. Then I got one (Ubuntu 18.04).

So they happen, just not very frequently. It only took 10 seconds, so I don't think the scientists will be spending much time trying to fix it.
