sorry, we will work on the time-exceeding WU next

Thanks David, we know you are very busy and we appreciate your efforts.

Regards
Phil

I know/understand they can be busy, but it would've been nicer if they kept us a bit more informed about these things.
Not only what they do or have done, but also what they intend to do.
The speed of the given info/responses etc. was one of the reasons to chose this project.
I'm glad this is cleared up.

Yet or won't be granted at all ?

I said yet because I assume since we have not heard that credit will not be granted,........................

If you have been looking at the WU stats for the new credits you won't find them there.

Regards
Phil

You kept me on this project for now.
We'll see what happens.

Somebody ?

The time exceeding WU have not been granted credit yet. The "Bad Random Number Seeds" WU usually error out in less than 20 CPU seconds and are a different kind of WU problem.

Yet or won't be granted at all ?

It's not about the credits, but the way this is handled which is annoying me.
If it's your own fault/mistake you can't complain, but if it's a devs problem they should show there appreceation for all the idle time of all the participants which is lost, but not because of these participants.
During the running of that time-exceeding WU I could've been crunching for another project without those WU problems.
If I knew I had to babysit I would've chosen another medical project.
It gets tyiring.

And about those 20second WU's. I've had a lot of those, but not a single one has been granted for and again it's not about the credits but the whole package.
I have my doubts about these criteria but one can always go somewhere else if one doesn't agree with the politics.

At some point ALL of your WU will be removed from your list. That is the way they keep the data base lean. How old was this WU you lost? If it was more than a week or two it would be removed in the normal course of running the project. But don't despair!! They have them ALL off line and they will eventually fix the problem.

While it might seem you have been ignored, you have not. There are a lot of users with a number of issues to be answered. What you will eventually discover is that this project is the most responsive of all of the BOINC projects to the needs of the user community. I don't mean to slight E@H with that comment because it is really hard to pick which of the two is better, but the point is they will get this taken care of in due course. Just calm down and give them a few days to take a look at the problem. The few credits that you are waiting for will not make much difference in the big picture.

As "The Gas Giant" pointed out he, I, and others, have a few thousand credits each at stake. This is supposed to be fun! This is more about lost computing time that could have been put to better use, than lost credits. What the discussion is about is fixing a problem in the application to make it a better science project.

Phil

I don't know whether I've had more time-exceeding Wu's.
Just came across this one so I knew it.
People were talking about crediting om Monday but suddenly the WU was gone without crediting.
Ofcourse the lost time is more important than credits, as I stated somewhere else I only choose a medical project in which I want to participate, but if (tome) strange things like this happens I get a bit ???
We'll see what happens next.

I don't like to kick this post, but also I hate being taken for a fool.
If it is to much trouble to reply to this post, it becomes to much trouble to continue this project.

Why do you think you are being taken for a fool, I don't understand?

I am assuming they have not had time to respond, which one may criticize as they are not giving enough priority to this issue, but I would not assume that I am a fool. :)

Well, if you remove something like a WU from someone's results list I assume that's reason enough to send that person a message or post something on the forum.
Assuming that this will be happening to a lot of crunchers.
And looking at the response time to other replies a day should be enough.
Thereby it's not the amount of credits, but the fact it is happening which is disturbing me.

It says 60000 minutes.
Can also put it to 60 minutes cause R@H is the only project running.
And it's the progress that jumps back now and again.

Still would like a explanation for this.
This way you lose time while the machines crunch full time ?

I'm just a bit disappointed because of the time lost, but see no reason to discontinue me running R@H at the moment, although already had more than 60 errors.

However would like to know if/when we can expect eventually credits for time-exceeding WU's.
When I have made my mind up about the project to crunch for I get statscrazy, I know its my fault but I can't help myself.

I didn't read the whole thread, but expected it (seems logical to me) to be cancelled as soon as it was known. Not te be send afterwards.
But I've had much more other errors, so we'll see.
It's a rather new project, but I hope it will run as it should in the very near future.
