my Internet I've been told isn't fast, 320 KB/s DL max, but R@H is far from saturating it, so I'd like for that server to get a better connection, I'm DLing at 50 KB/s average and goes way down to 2 KB/s; I hope the upload isn't slower than that.

The 4 tasks supposedly downloaded but when i touch 1 of them says 'waiting for download', so it's downloading apparently, I have 'Network Monitor Mini' to monitor network transfer and it shows traffic but not which app is doing it, so I guess it's R@H, really slow, but surprise, right now is 320 KB/s download, has been for a couple for minutes, I hope it keeps going like that, well false positive, it just dropped to piss poor speed again

Now this website says, I downloaded 12 taks, 4x3, and all gave error, pretty sure is not my device, I'm getting bad reputation because Rosetta at home is making me so, how nice, I'll uninstall then and probably never come back to it

You don't get a bad rep for having a corrupt download file. The server simply re-issues your WU to another volunteer.

Something is not letting your phone get the executable file completely.

Your rep is great standing with me. The Android version is still working through stability kinks as it is early life-cycle for that platform. Your participation is helping with the process of working through those kinks to a more stable environment for future Android participants.

The download error that Chilean posted indicates that the file behaved as though the download had completed to your phone, but when it looked at the size of the file that arrived, it did not match the correct size of the file.

If this were a PC I would say something like "check your firewall and antivirus settings", they seem to be blocking or interfering with the download. The filename shown is the executable file, not the related workunit data files. As such, it would be the BOINC Manager that is attempting to download that file. And until that completes successfully, R@h has no code that can run, as this file *is* the code that would run.

Do you know if there are some similar protection mechanisms on your phone? Perhaps there is a way to "whitelist" or give permissions to BOINC to download executable files.

I was told the UW network was unstable last week so that might have been the cause also.

I have no security system or firewall, after searching for a good 1, they cost money or are not true firewalls, or some kind of crap, I only have CM Lite that searches for viruses once the app is downloaded, that's all, everything I install runs fine. I think the BOINC Client isn't communicating well with the R@H for Android server and causing the faulty WUs, and some people say the server is unstable, another thread said no WU in 4 days, so this is all badly implemented and there should be a board for Android threads IMO or at least a 'sticky' Android server status thread.

Thx for the advice anyway

I just ran down all my tasks to tidy up, called for an update and immediately got tasks. No issue here right now.

I'm not sure if it's related but we have been having issues with the UW network. and they recently sent out this advisory notice:

Outage 2017-06-20 01:46:00 PDT - 2017-06-20 03:06:00 PDT

Summary:

Update: Issues with a UW campus security device have been resolved: campus Internet and internal traffic is experiencing normal response times.

The issues with the McAfee/Intel Intrusion Protection device continued and Network Operations staff have placed the devices into bypass mode to restore network stability.

-Daniel L

Due to an issue with a UW campus security device, campus Internet and some internal traffic is experiencing high response times and interruptions. UW-IT Security Engineers are being engaged to investigate the issue.

If the issues with the McAfee/Intel Intrusion Protection device continue Network Operations staff will place the devices into bypass mode to restore network stability.

OK, I'll give it another try.

Update looks nice, but the these black letters should be truly black not this gray that make is harder to see.

Update: it's downloading full speed now, glad too see the update was for the better :) I'll post outcome.

So far so good.Going really well, 384 MB DLed at full speed and counting, looks like it's gonna work fine. All downloaded OK, after setting preferences all 4 cores are at 100% *thimb up*, now to try it on my Huawei Y330.

Cheers.

Y330 2300 Drystone 930 wetstones, not bad, I thought it'd do much worse, it's processing but too little RAM and Storage, it has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB Storage, 2.3 usable, free after boinc fully downloaded, only 200 MB left, I made a back up and a factory reset to free storage and still too little, and I think even without and a 4 GB SD card won't be enough, boinc can't be moved to an external card, and not much left to move to it, too bad, the Wus got interrupted and started again, many times over a few hours of use, so uninstalling it...

I'm done reporting

I think I can make my Huawei Y330 to work R@H, running 1 WU on 1 core, it's dual core, so that way will occupy 400MBx2 that's leaving like 400MB free for my use, but now I can't connect to R@H from it, tried like 10 times, even change my password, it just fails, can anyone help please
