Mini Rosetta tasks have just run out again And some Robetta tasks have come through to fill the gap just in time to get through the weekend |

Our minirosetta queue is pretty big now so I wouldn't expect it to run out anytime soon. On a side note, please do not abort rosetta app jobs. Some researchers are starting to submit production jobs using the new app. |

Question: is there a way to choose only Minirosetta tasks for download? The reason why I am asking this is that Rosetta 4.04 is using up a lot more RAM than Rosetta Mini 3.78 does (about 10 x more). Normally this would not matter that much, but on this machine I am running some other activities which take up quite some RAM. So the less RAM Rosetta uses, the better. |

Question: is there a way to choose only Minirosetta tasks for download? Others asked this possibility in our profile preferences. But admins said no. |

Hi moderators, I don't know if this is the right thread, but I couldn't find "Minimum requirements" page, which was found on older website, on your new website. (https://web.archive.org/web/20170110130953/https://boinc.bakerlab.org:80/rosetta/rah_requirements.php) Adding it to the page for newbies would be helpful, I think. Pretty much anything will do, I think probably, from Windows XP or better, contemporary Operating Systems probably would be about the same for Linux and MacOS, but it'd be better if you could make even minor upgrades, anything but the Motherboard/Mainbard, faster RAM, better CPU, and even a better GPU if you want to do some GPU computing withFolding@Homa, since Rosetta@Home doesn't have a GPU client at least yet IIRC, and you should be fine. ANyway BOINC will do a benchmark test, first time it runs, and from time to time, so it does know how much work to five you according to defaults and preferences that overwrite them |

I saw these messages earlier today on my PC in one location and assumed it was just temporary. I'm now at a completely different location and saw it again, even though the Server Status page shows no issues. Problem at your end? I'm now getting Rosetta@home 09/11/2017 12:37:58 am 53 Temporarily failed upload of rb_10_30_78592_121217__t000__0_C1_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_528523_468_0_r1932281858_0: can't resolve hostname so it looks like it. |

Problem at your end? Your reference is unclear, but I think your final "it" might be a reference to packet filtering problems at their end? By the way, it appears that these forums are being filtered quite strangely. If it is set to show newest posts firsts, then it starts you on the page with the oldest posts, but if you tell it to sort for oldest posts firsts, then you still wind up on a page with the oldest posts. That's for a thread like this one that has several pages of posts. On shorter threads, it still seems quite resistant to winding up where I'm expecting it to... #1 Freedom = (Meaningful - Constrained) Choice{5} != (Beer^3 | Speech) |

New member here. Boinc is not transferring data for Rosetts@home to my laptop. Communication has been continually deferred all night long. Other Boinc projects are working fine. Any ideas? |

New member here. You might mention some details that could affect transfers. For example, what version of BOINC are you running? What operating system are you using (for example, Windows 10)? 32-bit or 64-bit? What CPU does your computer use? How much memory does your computer have? Rosetta@Home requires more than most other BOINC projects. Have Rosetta@Home tasks been failing on your computer lately? If enough have, expect rather few tasks for the next few days. Note that if you're running Windows 10 and have installed the recent Fall Update, expect some things not to work until you turn your computer off for at least one minute, then turn it on and let it reboot. The usual restart without power off is NOT adequate just after installing this update. What share of time on your computer did you assign Rosetta@Home? If 0, then expect Rosetta@Home tasks only when BOINC has tried and failed to get tasks from all other BOINC projects it is participating in. |
