The new batch all seem to be named new7snme_7aa_ndif and are running fine here (7hrs+) but I haven't returned any yet to confirm they validate successfully. Maybe they have Fresh Rosetta Beta batch issued new8a2s Total queued jobs: 2,241,362 |

All, I haven't been abe to download new tasks from Rosetta for about 2 weeks - I get this message: VirtualBox jobs require hardware acceleration support. Your processor does not support the required instruction set. I have been doing Rosetta tasks for about 9 years. I suspect my laptop hardware can't support these jobs anymore. Any ideas? I'm not especially tech-savvy, so I may need a very plain English step-by-step explanation/suggestion. |

Thanks for getting back to me, Veneto. What's a 'model of my CPU'? Intel EVO? Powered by CORE i5? (That's what it says on the sticker alongside the leyboard). |

This should help https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/application-management/virtualization-apps-not-work-with-hyper-v You might also need to enable vitrualization in efi firmware. |

Thanks for getting back to me, Veneto. I'm boboviz (from Veneto, a region of Italy) What's a 'model of my CPU'? Intel EVO? Powered by CORE i5? (That's what it says on the sticker alongside the leyboard). If you have Windows 10/11, you can see the model of your cpu on task manager/performances |

Core(TM) i5-1135G7 Enable virtualization on Windows 11 PCs You also have to have the version of BOINC that includes VirtualBox. BOINC downloads And you will need to allow BOINC to access huge amounts of disk space- very roughly 8GB per Task. Grant Darwin NT |

Interesting. This whole experience on Mabox Linux has been, well, lets just say bumpy. Contributed decades ago (all Windows), recently trying to get back into it (Linux.) Unfortunately, BOINC has forgotten all of my past contributions; guess that's my fault for letting it pasture. Edit, after a lengthy diatribe of battling BOINC Manager v7.24.1 install from the Mabox / Manjaro / Arch repos, it is finally downloading work units again. After a 6+GB download! Lets hope for less errors now. |

BOINC does not forget anything, perhaps except on WCG, where everything gets deleted 3 years after your last activity (does not have to be crunching, logging in is enough). . |

Sorry again for the Posting, but i still having Issues with new Task (getting or computing a few more) yesterday i had 2 Tasks running and this morning, i started BOINC to finish them (because they where on 90% ish) they are just gone by updating the Tasks. Can i just change anything or do anything, to proceed with computing in Rosetta? I mean, im using SiDock@Home at the Moment to do some medical Calculation but personally i love Seti@Home and Rosetta@Home... I guess the Reason is, because i started with them both years ago... Im using Windows 11 with a Ryzen 7, GPU is a RX 6750XT but i dont think thats the issues. Any help or advice apprechiated. |

Some BOINC projects will cancel incomplete workunits if they have already received enough replies for that workunit from other users, especially if they are past their deadlines, That's probably what happened. Rosetta@Home is low on workunits there days. Seti@Home has no workunits available these days, If you want more Rosetta@Home workunits, you'll have to set your computer to ask for them more often (but not ridiculously often). |

Although it appears there are some issues with your system- something other than BOINC work is using a lot of your CPU time. 6hr 50min to do 4hr 50min, and even worse- 12hrs 5min to do 8hr 14min work shows a system that has a very large non-BOINC load (or you're using some sort of CPU throttling- completely un-necessary on a desktop with good cooling). When i run low number of tasks at once cpu time for some reason is misreported. Cpu load reads very low too in perfmon.exe /res Microsoft refuses to fix it. It started happening after i updated from windows 11 build 22000 |

Well now i just reset all Projects i run, now i got 17 new Tasks. I dont know whats ongoing, the only Thing i´ve changed of Hardware is the GPU but i dont think thats the Main Issue here? Hm, lets see if i found something myself. |

Hi! Rosetta is using 3.3 GB of storage, but I have no work units running and all completed WUs have transferred. Hitting update doesn't change anything. Rosetta is using 6x more storage than my other two projects combined. What gives? Adam P.S.Haven't gotten any new work units for days. |

Hi!When you first connect to a project, you have no files for that project on your system. When you first download work from a project, it will then download the necessary applications & support files, libraries & data to process those Tasks. If there are different applications, then each time you get work for a different application it will have to download all the files needed to process work that different application. From then on, all that has to happen to process work is to just download the Task file. If the project removed all the support files every time you finished processing work for a particular application, it would need to re-download all of those files all over again when you next got work that required them. That's why even if you don't have any work being done at present, you will still have all the files need to process that work on your system. Some Projects have huge storage requirements for Tasks, but not much for the Application & other files. Some have huge Application & other files, but small Task file sizes. Some have small requirements for both. Some have huge requirements for both. Guess where Rosetta fits in. P.S.Haven't gotten any new work units for days.Your system shows as having 4 Tasks being worked on now. Grant Darwin NT |

Hi Grant, thanks for the explanation! that makes a lot of sense. And yes, right after I posted my question, Boinc downloaded new tasks. I hadn't gotten any for 4 days or so. |
