I am not sure if this is the same issue, but om both my M1 Macs I get work units offered, the download is almost nothing, (0.57Kb I saw once) and then I get once the tasks start "Computational Error" on all work units. I have stopped fetching new units for now. Most of mine are around 100KB on a Windows 11 machine. They produce a computation error in under a minute. I'm leaving my 7 computers running them, I guess if none work, they need them all back so they can do something about it. |

Every work unit is giving me an error immediately after starting. I've reset the project, still does the same thing... |

Every work unit is giving me an error immediately after starting. I've reset the project, still does the same thing...Yet another bug. These should be tested on Ralph@home first. But there's no admins or programmers in here, in fact no way of contacting anyone here. Even emails to the head admin and David Baker himself are ignored. |

Looks like they are training someone in how to create workunits. But they haven't reached the point of checking if those workunits are likely to run, or how to read the forums. They haven't reached the point of checking the results, either. |

Neural net? They clearly aren't using that. To be this stupid requires a human. |

only one and a half million work units left on the front page , Looks like we have shredded most of the preefab junk , I have a perfectly good shredder over there by the window`s , and if I want to use `shred` in Linux I can do the file in short order , Ahh , that`s it , it`s a `Banksy` original , self shredding work units , No `girl with balloon` this time , I knew they where working on something important , sort of . . Glad I don't have to pay for this lot . |

Well, it seems they are punishing me for the bad work units they have sent me.I've seen that somewhere before (perhaps not this project), but they don't seem to be punishing me yet, I've gone through several thousand bad Preetham 4.2 tasks. |

I've seen that somewhere before (perhaps not this project), but they don't seem to be punishing me yet, I've gone through several thousand bad Preetham 4.2 tasks. Well, for me maybe 400 tasks bombed out after 40 seconds or less. All in the last day or two. Definately not 1000. |

Mine are spread out over 7 computers. One computer doesn't seem to be held responsible for what another one does, especially since I use two accounts, one for Gridcoins and the other for when that messes up and won't give me the apps I want.I've seen that somewhere before (perhaps not this project), but they don't seem to be punishing me yet, I've gone through several thousand bad Preetham 4.2 tasks. |

Sine BOINC projects reverse any penalty for failed tasks if all of the other computers given the same task fail it also. |

About the 'Residue' error... I think its a good idea to re-post the complete error from a task... <stderr_txt> command: ../../projects/boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta/rosetta_4.20_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu @preetham_gen_59129_0001_0001_0.flags -nstruct 10000 -cpu_run_time 28800 -boinc:max_nstruct 20000 -checkpoint_interval 120 -mute all -database minirosetta_database -in::file::zip minirosetta_database.zip -boinc::watchdog -boinc::cpu_run_timeout 36000 -run::rng mt19937 -constant_seed -jran 3988120 Using database: database_357d5d93529_n_methyl/minirosetta_database ERROR: Error in simple_cycpcp_predict app read_sequence() function! The minimum number of residues for a cyclic peptide is 4. (GenKIC requires three residues, plus a fourth to serve as an anchor). ERROR:: Exit from: src/protocols/cyclic_peptide_predict/SimpleCycpepPredictApplication.cc line: 2264 BOINC:: Error reading and gzipping output datafile: default.out 20:44:11 (20850): called boinc_finish(1) </stderr_txt> I run Linux and my wing-man (on this and other WU) runs windows. Both get the same error. I **assume** this is the same error that is on this forum for the last few days. I have set ' no new work' for Rosetta and will check back on this forum to see if the code has been fixed... reference: https://www.rosettacommons.org/docs/latest/scripting_documentation/RosettaScripts/composite_protocols/generalized_kic/GeneralizedKIC Happy St. Patrick's Day! Virtualization is enabled in the bios. HyperV doesn't show up in windows features. There is Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Hypervisor Platform, but they are both disabled in windows. So I'm still not sure why I'm getting the hardware acceleration error. |
