You've asked already and they aren't listening. They have more important things to do than help you out with your net nanny censorship. Grow an extra brain cell and go find the block function in the forum. To everyone fighting in here and calling names: This is bug reporting thread. Please take your argument elsewhere. Nothing you all are posting has anything to do with the point of this particular thread.Yes mein fuhrer. |

In fact I've never even said a particular race should be stopped from breeding, I said unhealthy ones. So, we have to stop breeding you. |

So you want to dictate everything for everyone and not just yourself? You should go work in politics, that's where power hungry maniacs belong. You've asked already and they aren't listening. I have not bred for two reasons. One, I admit I'm not the best looking fittest healthiest specimen around, so I let the better quality people breed. Two, the world is way too full, we should all be cutting down on breeding. If everyone used a bit of common sense and learned to abstain from having kids every 5 minutes we could have a world that wasn't overcrowded and was full of fit healthy gorgeous people. At least the UK government has stopped giving child benefits to 3rd and subsequent children. In fact I've never even said a particular race should be stopped from breeding, I said unhealthy ones. |

The word genocide taken literally has a very wide scope. It could be encouraging people not to breed, or it could be killing them. Guess what, the second one is a billion times worse, because well.... there's killing involved. You missed my point entirely. No I don't The policy began as removing "life unworthy of life", so it began with mental & physical disability and made the very short jump to removing "racial impurity", where Jews, Romany, Slavs etc were considered "racially inferior" as an addition to mental or physical disability. Far from it not being the same, it was an extension of the exact same thinking. It's more than a little pathetic to self-define it as gassing, when it was far more than that, then ask where you mentioned gassing. It's by any method, and the method of which you approve the most is CV19, even though I've already made it very clear CV19 almost studiously avoids those in their child-bearing years, so has literally no evolutionary impact whatsoever. It just kills people in a way you repeatedly approve of that you also describe as a billion times worse than genocide... |

I suppose you'd say those parents are murdering someone who doesn't exist yet. It's more than a little pathetic to self-define it as gassing, when it was far more than that, then ask where you mentioned gassing. It does not avoid those in child-bearing years. It's just less likely to kill them. But those who it does kill, it means there will be less people born with weak immune systems. |

I suppose you'd say those parents are murdering someone who doesn't exist yet. You "suppose" a lot for someone who can't distinguish between a policy imposed from above and any decision people make for themselves. In your own words: You state you're "not the best looking fittest healthiest specimen around" You believe "If you're an ugly or unhealthy person, not breeding is a good idea. Why put your offspring through being like you?" I'm not clear if it's because "If you had a nasty disease that you knew would be passed on, you would refrain from having kids" But you confirm "I have not bred" - though it's not entirely clear how much of that was a choice made by you or by others on your behalf. It's not for me or anyone to decide what other people should do for themselves and neither is it for anyone to give this kind of advice or cheer-lead when events outside their control or choice kill 1 in 29 infected people. But then, that's something you claim to agree with "So you want to dictate everything for everyone and not just yourself?" You can certainly make a choice for yourself, and I doubt anyone here would disagree with your choice, given the reasons you've made known. I certainly agree you shouldn't breed. When the choice isn't your own, I agree with you again, it shouldn't be imposed on you against your will. Nor by you on anyone else. It's nice to agree. |

We already have things imposed on us, for example wearing a seatbelt (which only protects you) to save the NHS money. Why would you want to allow people to be born that are going to cost the NHS a lot of money over their lives? Why would you not want the population as a whole to become healthier with each generation? It is your duty in society to improve that society. The policy began as removing "life unworthy of life", so it began with mental & physical disability and made the very short jump to removing "racial impurity", where Jews, Romany, Slavs etc were considered "racially inferior" as an addition to mental or physical disability. Sorry to interrupt your rants but we are quite a lot having trouble with the new python project work units. Thread is here : https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=14448 |

I'm also having problems with Rosetta. My computer just marked 45 tasks as Errors While Computing, all within a few seconds of starting. Here is an example, one of the 45: 1389100052 1241048633 3551508 1 Jun 2021, 16:01:45 UTC 1 Jun 2021, 16:02:57 UTC Error while computing 3.54 0.00 --- Rosetta v4.20 windows_x86_64 Here's the computer configuration: 7.16.11 AuthenticAMD AMD A6-6400K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics [Family 21 Model 19 Stepping 1] (2 processors) AMD AMD Radeon HD 7400/7500/8300/8400 series (Scrapper) (768MB) driver: 1.4.1848 OpenCL: 1.2 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Edition, (06.01.7600.00) Any ideas? There's a vast difference between you personally deciding not to breed for your own reasons and the government imposing decisions about who should not breed for its own reasons. At some point, it becomes a political decision. It's not such a big jump from deciding who is not fit to breed, to mental defectives, then to certain physical defects, then to Jews, Gypsies and dissidents, to nine million people. A slippery slope there for sure. S.Gaber |

I'm also having problems with Rosetta. Yes one--you only have 8gb of memory in that machine and should only try running ONE Rosetta task at a time and NOTHING else at all on the cpu. |

Not true. As long as you have 1.3GB of RAM per core/thread you won't run in to lack of memory problems. 8GB of RAM on a 2 core system (even with onboard graphics) is plenty even with the largest RAM requirement Tasks.I'm also having problems with Rosetta. That system is showing signs of a major hardware or driver issue- hardware being most likely (unfortunately the error messages aren't of much help). I'd check the temperature of the CPU, make sure the power supply rails are all OK, etc. Give Memtest86 a run if the PSU & CPU temperatures are OK. If they check out OK, it could be the result of corruption of some of the Rosetta files- Resetting the project will dump all existing work, delete all the executable & database files & re-download them from scratch. Even if that does fix it, the question is still "Why did they become corrupt?" Grant Darwin NT |

Not sure what's been going on, but apart from a one day glitch, may RAC has has been falling steadily for almost 2 weeks. And it's still falling. On my systems the amount of Credit per task has gone from around 350 to barely above 300 (there's the odd one giving 400, but more odd ones giving only 170 or so), yet the number of of Invalids and Errors has dropped away considerably. Nope. Not sure what's been going on, but apart from a one day glitch, may RAC has has been falling steadily for almost 2 weeks. And it's still falling. The Credit is based on the amount of work they do, during the time they run. The work being done & Runtime is unchanged, and many of the Tasks over the last couple of weeks are of types that have been released before, and were paying more Credit. A good example are the pre_helical_bundles_ we've been getting for months now. They're the ones that were paying around 350, now it's barely 300. The odd one will give 400, but there are many more odd ones paying only 170 or so. Just another example of the weird Credit mechanism behaviour of BOINC. Grant Darwin NT |

Is this the so called "credit new"?That would probably be part of it. Rosetta has their own Credit mechanism, but there are times where it uses the Credit New mechanism as well. Grant Darwin NT |
