Host Number https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=96994

Operating system is actually ;
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional x64 Edition
Version 2003
Service Pack 1

Wondering if worthwhile to pick that up rather than the identification as Windows2003.

You might post this on the BOINC boards, as that info is just reported up from the BOINC client and there's nothing Rosetta can do about it, but I can tell you what answer you'll get - BOINC makes an OS call and just sends up what it gets from the OS.

If you want to see the actual text the OS gave to BOINC, you can (carefully!) open the file "client_state.xml" in Notepad (don't save it!) and look at the os_name and os_version lines. It's possible that something in the BOINC server-side code is "expanding on" what the OS says, and in this case is doing so incorrectly; if so, you might have some luck at the BOINC boards if you paste in exactly what the differences are. My Windows box however shows on the website just what the xml file says.

Cheers Bill,

For some reason I thought I was on the Boinc Alpha boards when I posted this ! One of the reasons for running Rosetta was simply that the Alpha project appears to have little scientific value, whilst testing new clients I feel I should at least do some important stuff, Rosetta was one of the first to jump to the new login system in 5.2odd release.
