Hi everyone. I have just joined the Rosetta project. I have been running the Fight Malaria @ Home project for a while, but as WU's have dried up a bit there I thought I'd add another project.

Rosetta WU's are in the order of 3:30hrs whilst Malaria's are 0:15 ish. AND fight malaria currently has no new tasks to dispense. If I leave BOINC at the default 60 mins between apps swaps:

a) Will it come straight back to Rosetta if it finds no work to do or will it site there idle until the next swap interval passes?

b) with the disparity between WU durations, am I better off setting the swap apps interval to say 480 minutes to allow Rosetta WU's to complete, or does it make no difference if I leave it at 60 mins?

I'd appreciate some advice please. TIA

It shouldn't ever sit there with an empty queue if any of the projects on your list have work available.

Regarding duration, BOINC works on a debt principle so it'll try to balance the projects as per your preferences. If it runs lots of Rosetta because there's no other projects available then it'll try to rebalance the debt when it can.

I would recommended increasing the duration because switching projects takes time to write to disk and initialise.
