Another thing which is wanted to draw your attention. One of the common things that common in all computers with this bug (100% error rate at validation stage), it is missing version of minirosetta in the logs.
Like in example: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=543001353
Validate state Invalid
Claimed credit 34.1018733270665
Granted credit 34.1018733270665
application version ---


This (no version information) may be the reason that the validator mark all such WUs as invalid? Despite the fact that he was correctly calculated actually?

So far I've seen that only brand new machines are having troubles. Fixing this will allow many new machines to crunch.

Hint: New = Fast.

After update to minirosetta 3.43 (windows) there is no progress in workunits.
All WU stay at 0%. CPU usage is 0%. minirosetta process operates in 32 bit mode instead of 64

Don't know if issue with boinc manager or 3.43 rosetta, but it forcibly(i have set it not to open) starts a window that shows the screensaver graphics. Also no progress seems to happen progress bar in boinc manager.

Same issue here. I think you hit the nail on the head. My problem started after the Window 7 update.

I also got same problems after today's Win7 updates!

Had to suspend Rosetta due to the Black Pop-up windows and 0% progress. The progress elapsed time would start and then reset about once per minute and pop up the Black Rosetta Graphics display and became extremely annoying.
I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium and haven't had a successful windows update since Oct 29th.

There are 34 Updates Pending, that fail every time I run the update.
This was the last "successful" Windows Update...

I did not had an Windows 7 update until now. For me the problem started with version 3.43

This black popup window is devastating! I've had friends, customers, and workmates who agreed to run Rosetta calling me asking what is happening to their computers. I had to do an emergency detach of the project, and am doing damage control with my associates. This should not have been allowed to happen.

I just started having the same problem. I am running Windows Vista 64-bit dual core CPU. Have not done any updates to Windows lately. Started with first job using minirosetta v 3.43. A version 3.41 task is also running on my system without any issues. 3.43 task has used over 10 minutes of CPU with estimated 10 hours remaining and shows 0.000% complete.

Well I didnt update yet my W7 64b. So maybe have nothing to do with them. But I've same problem since this morning.

I've a NVIDIA GT 530 with driver v306.23, processor i3-2120, Win7 64b, BOINC 7.0.28 x64

Running Vista x64 and have the same popup window problem, it started yesterday...before the latest Windows Update was applied :-(

This doesn't have anything to do with Windows updates, this has to do with the newly released minirosetta 3.43 application.

Yes "pop-up bug" is not connected to windows updates or BOINC 7+ issues discussed in this topic. Error is associated with the confusion in the files with the release of version 3.43 of minirosetta app. Details and discussion in this thread: 3.43 is causing pop-ups
