hello,

like many people, i had some compute errors last two days on rosetta mini 3.26.
I dont know why. nothing changed on my computer.some are working well. the problem not appear on all jobs. really curious.

There is an issue with work preferences set at Rosetta@home overriding newer preferences set with BOINC Account Manager (BAM!).
Basically what is happening is BAM! is giving a set of preferences to a client and they are applied. Then, the next time the client connects to Rosetta@home those preferences are changed to be the Rosetta@home preferences even though the Rosetta@home preferences are older.

I'm told by BAM! that the issue can be resolved by updated the Rosetta@home server software. Are there any plans for updating the Rosetta@home server software?

rb_06_15_31959_62754__t000__0_C2_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_51345_2486

Getting quite a few of these erroring out, presumably "no output file found".
Initial thought was ram failure but checking I see that my wingmen are also getting "compute error" on them also. Coincidence? Programming problem? Irritation on folder's part? Probably!
Any one else getting problems with these rb files?

I'm having similar issues and on the .25 version. When will .28 be the recommended version? I'm hesitant to change to a development version on the Manager.

odd..cause I thought .28 was the latest stable version.
They must have downgraded it.
It is stable, very much so.
Have not had any problems with it.

Not according to BOINC's website it isn't. Do you think maybe I should try it anyway?

This is not as important as the other issues, however, The Rosetta screen saver hangs periodically with the following win 7 message:

That's odd - they pulled it and then released it again. It's good for R@H though - my understanding is that .28 solves the problems that people have been having...

I find the entire 7 series bug-ridden with everything from computation errors to weird work-fetch behaviour and prioritizing of tasks. It also seems to interact with my computer more than 6, getting more slowdowns as a result.

Have now install 7.0.28 final but it seems slower still.

I upgraded to v28 and 4out of 4 failures.. each wu lasting less than a minute

why all these errors?

If you take a look at the rcent post from Ray Wang in the CASP 10 thread of the science forum he says the following which likely explains what you observed.

"Hello everyone!!

Apologies!

I am Ray Wang, one of the protein structures predictors of Baker Lab CASP10 team. Few days ago, there were massive error submissions which caused the success rates to be zero. That was due to a remiss update of the CASP working pipeline. We were very sorry about causing the inconvenience for you all, and for sure will be doing more meticulous checking before we trigger the pipeline!

I installed new version now I have lost all my statistics and not getting any new work! last work results uploaded on 14th July.
Can you tell me if this is the servers or my machine. Let me know if you need any logs and if so how to get them to you

I get an instant 'compute error' on all my work units for the last few days now. No problems with other projects from WCG.
