I tried 64bit BOINC 6.6.7 with Vista and it didn't work for me... As stable as XP 64 is I don't like how Remote Desktop is behaving so I'm going to stick with Vista, I thought about switching to Linux and running Ubuntu but I find Linux a pain in my ass being Windows born and bread. I might try a trial version of Server 2008 x64 just for curiosity sake, I'll be choked if it works because I won't be able to keep it as there is no way I'm paying $1000 for server!! |

I got a trial version of Server 2008 64-bit and it crunches no problem... I guess it just doesn't like my Vista 64...oh well, I'm done playing now. |

I started running Rosetta this morning on a 64bit Vista machine and all seems to be working well. It's been working well on other projects too. Here is what I'm running: I've been running Rosetta on an i7 920 overclocked to 4GHz and on a 64bit version of Vista and Windows7 for months without problem. Today all of my WU's bombed. I'm leaning towards RAM issues since Prime Small ffts pass for hours, but blend fails after a few minutes. I'll see what memtest has to say. |

Just FYI. I quit crunching Mini Rosetta while I waited for a new version and while I don't know what changes were made, I now crunch v1.67 Mini Rosetta flawlessly! No more compute errors in Vista 64 on either of my machines!! I can overclock, throttle processors, do pretty much anything I like and its all good! Thanks! |

My AMD Phenom tuns with all cores all the time, even when I play games. And I only have 3GB of RAM. R@H doesn't hinder my PC, performance-wise. Oh, try installing Windows 7. Works like a charm. ;) |

Some people have problems getting enough air conditioning to keep their computers cool enough to run them very long without throttling them. Also, laptops are often too crowded inside to allow adequate cooling for running them with a full workload without throttling them. |
