Indeed, whatever problem that was going on (recognizing that all we have is speculation here) has, at least for the moment, been resolved (or alternatively, temporarily fixed itself).

connection has been a bit intermittent from here too - was able to connect more than not though... and seems fine now...

For the past week or so, the Rosetta folks have been having problems -- what has been mentioned is that they are dealing with a DOS attack and until one of their 'high tech' admins is back on site, it is likely to be a repetitive problem. No mention of this on the home page though.

Our boinc web server was reaching it's limit so we fired up another server to help with the downloads and we will eventually balance out the uploads also. On a positive note, it's not a bad problem to have. Our throughput has been climbing recently.

No, the web servers are getting legitimate requests now. Locking out the IPs and removing the spam profile did the trick.

Yay, able to reach the site again.

I'd like to BOINC the heads of the people behind the DoS attacks together and crunch them into a fine dust - hopefully getting credit(s) for doing so.

there is stuff showing as "new" unread that dates back to last year in some cases.
