Likewise if you get this way.

We decided it was time to turn in when the Xmas lights started turning off. Pity. We still had 4 CDs' worth of music left out of the huge pile everyone donated to the expedition.

Have a complicated rating system for Xmas light viewing. Color choices, vintage of lights, exuberance, tackiness [as it was resolved that the best Christmas is tacky/gaudy], degree of difficulty, unusual effort [extra points went to the dude who managed to wrap lights nearly 30 feet up a pine in his yard, as well as the folks who turned their palms into a lovely creation resembling undersea creatures with the lights on waving fronds] and most likely to have hit the eggnog before beginning. Success is when all of us in the car view a house and breathe, "Oh YEAH!"

We also decided on the spot to create 2 conspiracy theories:
1] The people who put arrow like Xmas trees on their roofs are actually providing nav aids to [fill in the blank - aliens, terrorists, local pilots]
and
2] The sheer number of crimson draped houses must signify an upswing in the local red light district customers. LOL!

Not to worry, Fully. I'm exceedingly picky in person, as opposed to my, erm, sharing nature here on the boards. [And YES TT, that 1 date in the last 5 years WAS a voluntary thing. Quitcher smirking!] I live in a military intensive town that probably supports the latex industry in part, if not in whole. Fortunately I'm not responsible for short arm briefings any longer, which has saved my sanity and the egos of countless empty headed youngsters who just couldn't conceive that I might have heard a lot of their best lines before. <snigger>

I cannot believe the resistence to this project from some of the people I have come across. A business is a different issue and that I understand, but damn. The bandwidth consumption is like sending 1 email every 2 hours. What's the big deal.

Anyway, that is very cool of them to help you out but they should be doing this to help the world. I just don't get it. We need to think Globably or we are going to be in a hurt.

Sir Johnathon, I will have to refer you to Sir Legman for a proper answer to your question. =)

All I know is it's quite a few machines to be added to our arsenal. =)

What is Lubu?
I've heard mention of it a couple of times... And I'm stumped!

Lubu is a trans-solar space traveler. He is much Like Com. Data from the starship enterprise however he is not a cyborg rather a craft that has its own will. Ever since Lubu came near our solar system he took a great intrest in our planet thanks to all the Sat. broadcasts he could watch. So it was by chance that when Legman was trying to get free satalite that he came accross what seemed to be a pre-authenticated SSH sesson with a remote computer. Being the lab-rat he is, Legman managed to hard-wire a keyboard into the tuner box and fist keyed 'ls' he got:

LUBU:/ # ls
. admin boot etc lib mnt proc sbin sys usr shit
.. bin dev home media opt root srv tmp var

then legman went to look in shit and found windows server 2000.

After hours of exploration our Legman (giving up all sense of pride) typed in 'help' ... and this is where it gets interesting

LUBU:/ # help
Hello... ?

(what the ?!)thought legman

LUBU:/ # help?
Thought you'd never ask... who are you? (yes or no)?
: yes

LUBU:/ # rﾝ0㈱I奈ｦmm鍮ｴｯ~M&X｣ﾁｰｬ`-+ 冱卜ｭ5ｾｺ3ｬ@E9ﾄ

AHA! Tought legman... so that's who killed JFK.

From that moment on, Legman and Lubu became best friends. It was not until the very same day a year later that in the middle of the night LUBU abducted Legman and took him back to its home world.

On seeing all the other craft-like beings there he thoght to himself "If only I could get these guys to run FAD" and so they did. LUBU took back with him off of his children, also called LUBU just with a few added numbers.

They should be pumping out highter CPU ratings but they seem to be busy watching porn so they tend to be a bit distracted. With the 3 new Japanese satalites up they have been even more slack.

So that is the story of Lubu. Sorry if you wanted it kept a secret, Legman. They won't beleive me anyway so I don't see it doing any harm.

ROFL! I believe it! I do!

(puts on moderator hat)
BBCode has, um, "issues"... large lines of text with no breaks causes "stretching"
which in turn causes horizontal scrolling, in _ALL_ posts in the thread
which in turn causes carpal tunnel
which in turn causes us to mis-key that crucial first communication with the space beings...

I can't edit a post - luckily. I wouldn't want a mod to be able to change something I said but have everyone else think I said it.
I can only delete a post. If you (and legman since he quoted it) will re-post a new one with some line breaks, I'll delete the originals.
