Do you have those CPUs at home???
One collector of computer parts would be highly interested in them.(Intel,Amd Cyrix or even Winchip...)

When a computer is down for 2 weeks because I broke my processor through careless handling, it drops your RAC like a rock.

And give me a Guiness or Sam Adams any day of the week.

And should be keep stroking Who's ego? I mean, he's toured the world over with Roger Daltry, what more does he want?

since I am the one who ran the numbers on the V8

Who? is that you?

Because the article states under the picture "It was all smiles from Intel Senior Performance Analyst Francois Piednoel as he just finished running benchmarks with the V8 system which was running a pair of 3.00GHz Penryn processors"

Heres a interesting story on multi core processors and the fact that software hasn't been written to support them fully yet.

New processors present problems, payoff

Is the Penryn quad still just two dual-cores sandwiched together or is this a "true" quad-core? If not, what is the name for the real quad-core and when is that supposed to be available?

Thanks.

One die or 2 dies , does it make any difference? does it? This NON NAIVE Quad core Core 2 design allowed the price of the Q6600 to go below 300$

Performance wise, it does not make any difference.

Although that's hard to test right now, without a monolithic quad to compare to (at least on the retail scene)...

If it doesn't make a difference why did Intel bother changing the design from 2 dies with the Pentium D to 1 die with the Core 2? With the Core 2, each core can share parts of the cache right? Wouldn't a 1 die quad-core benefit from the same thing between all 4 cores and have faster inter-processor communication?

I understand that Intel will eventually release a one die quad-core design so there must be some benefit to using that?!?!?
