testing some SSSE3 code on it :)
time to kick some Aces .. hehehe

My 4x4 (4 Cores at 4 Ghz) will stay on Rosetta, will get a 2600RAC by the end of week.
Vista yesterday installed package without asking, due to its release, it rebooted my pc making me lose half night of computing on both machines. I turned off the auto install for the updates, and only let it download them. I advise anybody crunching with Vista to do so.
Notice as well that there is not any sign of slow down on Vista with Core 2 on Rosetta, it actually improved the responce time when work with it with the 8 CPUs running Rosetta. I don t feel anymore Rosetta in the back ground. Come on guys, give it a shot, I like it, very good looking, almost as a MAC ;)

Who? on vista

When Boinc is installed as a service it will run even if no one is logged in. A vista upgrade has the permissions to auto restart machine???? Not good.

Vista is supposed to be better than XP on many-cored SMP systems (more than about .. 2, 4, ?? I have no idea). Would be interesting to see if you see an improvement after migrating from XP.

The thread migration on SHARED cache is minimized, it will help a little if you have a Quad core with 2 shared cache. :)
HyperThreading support is finally implemented correctly in Vista

Who? What's the parts list for your rig again? I see Newegg has the "clovertown" 5320 for sale for just under $500 ea. Decent Asus board is $500.
