Agree, after 60-75% with 36MB RAM usage went back to 1% and 100MB usage. Will these WUs finished after some time or not? Any informations? Thx. |

I'm seeing errors. I hope there isn't a consistent problem. I guess I will know tomorrow. No errors in the successful results. |

One Wu finished successful (~9h), the other one failed :( Error message was: 22.09.2005 20:17:28|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result 1b07A_abrelax_3682_2 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) Edit: using Win XP, P4 3.2Ghz HT with BOINC Manager 4.72 and Rosetta 4.76 Grrrrrrrrreetings from the Lazy Cat... |

I just looked into my results: 22.09.2005 20:17:28|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result 1b07A_abrelax_3682_2 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) Result for this WU: 4.72 - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005) ***UNHANDLED EXCEPTION**** Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x0042948D read attempt to address 0xE1573CFC Exiting... ***UNHANDLED EXCEPTION**** Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x0063C153 read attempt to address 0x07071638 Exiting... Result for the 'successful' WU: 4.72 ***UNHANDLED EXCEPTION**** Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x0063C153 read attempt to address 0x070B2D84 Exiting... Well, to me it seems as even the 'successful' WU showed an error, I don't really understand this. Grrrrrrrrreetings from the Lazy Cat... |

With the new Windows app, I cannot get any WU's to start with one machine. 9/22/2005 3:02:50 PM|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result 1pvaA_abrelax_5084_5 (CreateProcess() failed - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (0x20)) What other process??? Is this my issue or an issue with the new Windows app? |

Thanks David. I am up and running now. It is wonderful to have such a responsive group behind the project. |

About the "problem of 1 %" (when the wu dropped back to 1 %) I ran 4 wus (with the 4.76) and i noted that the wu dropped back when it reached 75 % ; if no problem the next step would be 83,33 % but this is not what happens. I see in the progress (% done) 66.67 % -> 75 % -> 1 % -> 91.67 % -> 100 % That seems to be a problem of display (?) because the wu goes on its work. |

About the "problem of 1 %" (when the wu dropped back to 1 %) I'm hoping I fixed this in version 4.77, it is just a display issue, regardless. |

With a 1200 mhz AMD and 512 RAM, I just finished a WU with the 4.76 application in under 3 hours. A dramatic speed improvement over the 4.75 application which was averaging between 18 and 19 hours. Downloading the 4.77 application now with a new WU. |

All my wu's so far have errored out at various stages (the most recent at 97% or something ... Just a quick question here, are you running Rosetta@home all by itself, or are you switching from one BOINC project to another before the Rosetta WU completes? |

Mine's working fine crunching other projects.... Switched between Sztaki, CPDN and Rosetta overnight with no problems at all and when I woke up I found new workunits crunching happily with the CPU time and %complete working as expected. |

Clark -- Perhaps your setup is powerful enough to totally complete a WU before it switches from one project to another. What is your setup for switching times between projects? |

Mine's working fine crunching other projects.... Same here and that included a system crash when a Rosetta WU was running. The crash wasn't the result of BOINC or Rosetta but due to Outlook Express that I knew better than to open as it always crashes unless opened immediately after a reboot. LOL. Rosetta picked up where it left off after I restarted the PC with no issues and that WU should be completing in the next 30 minutes. |

Yup! 4.77 seems to be doing the trick alright! It's been paused, stopped (service), benchmarked and rebooted and appears to be able to take it all in its stride. Plus its a hell of a lot faster that 4.75! @David Kim - you can relax on your vacation now!!! Thanks for the hard work to get these intial probelms sorted. The students just started moving in yesterday. They'll see the posters (see images in the 'about' section), but they won't hear about it from the staff until Tuesday. We're asking them to sign up under teams named after their Halls. I'd say there are only a handful atm, maybe 20. |
