We will submit these lowest energy structures for T283 this week

Does this mean t283 is done, and we should abort the remaining workunits on t283 to move on to the other problems?

No, please don't abort them! We think we know the rough location of the lowest energy (true) structure, but we haven't totally narrowed it down yet; the runs for the next few days are searching this area as thoroughly as possible. I'll post in my journal when we are completely done.

Unfortuantly I just lost about a weeks worth of crunching of these :-(
Stupid BAM (Boinc Account Mnanger) detached the project after the boinc client version updated <grrrr> and they either hadn't been sent in or reported.... (you'd have thought it would do an 'update' first )

When (and where) can we read about the first results at the CASP website?

I looked in Prediction receiving status and didn't find anything for BAKER-ROSETTADOM (is that what we crunch for?) now that 2 targets reached their deadline.

Please don't delete any jobs until the deadlines posted on the CASP website have been reached. For t283 we are continuing to do runs in hopes of finding still lower energy solutions. thanks, David

Perhaps when each target deadline is reached, Rosetta would make an Announcement on the Project main page stating something like "Today we reached the deadline for CASP target XXX......You may delete any remaining CASP XXX targets in your work que at this time should you wish......"

Or something like that, so people don't need to feel like they have to keep track of this information themselves.

Bob P.

So t284 (haven't seen any of that) and t287 could (should?) be deleted? I have a y287 here with a deadline of june, 7th. Delete or crunch?

I suspect they want us to crunch them all. If the structure is found, even after the deadline, that should be useful to them.

This is a good idea and I'll ask Rhiju and Bin to do this. Again, please don't delete any work units prematurely!

Rather then put it on the home page, put it in the project announcements thread. Then people can subscribe to the thread and get an e-mail when something needs to be done. I recall mentioning this somewhere else, but I don't remember where!
