I was just looking where to post this news and found you beat me to it by minutes Here's the report from the NY Times as well Nobel Prize in Chemistry Goes to 3 Scientists for Predicting and Creating Proteins Fantastic news and well deserved given what we've worked on since March 2020 and the creation of Rosettafold and other applications since I think 2021 |

I'm not clear at all if any of these advances are somehow implemented in this boinc project anyway ? what about TrRosetta ? This prize is about AI and AlphaFold2, nothing related here. There is no official information on this website / forum for the past 2 years (last post of "admin" was in June 2022). The number of available tasks is minimal and close to 0 - all get sucked instantaneously due to the number of old crunchers still believing in this old project. The only proof of life is the "beta" program that got updated in August this year, but why / what ? are there any information here ? I couldn't find them. Maybe I'm wrong, I'd like, any real / new information welcomed. |

Rosetta, the software, is cited in the Scientific Background of the Nobel award. Rosetta@home is not. However, the Rosetta@home project was, IIRC, initially created precisely to help test and further develop the Rosetta software. In a way, Rosetta@home was also important for Rosetta and therefore made a contribution to the work that was awarded by the Nobel Committee. IMO. |

You are using "was" and "made", the whole point is if it is still of any interest in the current version, and what about the beta version that was updated in August, and why those who administrate this boinc project don't seem to have much interest in explaining anything anymore to the boinc community of crunchers who have been helping them for so long in making their development test and contributions. |

Good communication has rarely been a strong point of this project. The project is still getting work so I assume there is still some interest. |

This prize is about AI and AlphaFold2, nothing related here. Alphafold is ispired by Foldit. And Alphafold ispired RosettaFold (the AI of Rosetta), as Baker said. Ideas are spinning. |

Lack of communication is well known in this project. But the important are scientific results: Computing resources were provided by the volunteers who have donated the spare CPU cycles of their cellular telephones and computers to the Rosetta@Home project |
