Just got to the end and it seems to truncate Rhiju's nice story about the little girl somewhere across the world that's going to grow up with this stuff and just develop an inherent FEEL for it, and beat the present day scientists at their own game.

So, either your net copy is trucated, or perhaps the final splice just wasn't in the right place.

I cut off the beginning segment because it was too long. The ending is the same...

I'll try to dig up the original and have you compare. I think that the edit is OK.

great job Laura - well done! I'll use that to try and recruit the IT dept at uni if that's ok with you? I'm putting a 'business case' together so that'll be really useful.

if i were being really critical, the only thing I can think of that would IMO improve it would be the initial intro shot. I think that's quite an important first impression and I don't think it fits with the rest of the video. I like the idea of it though - can you do the same zoom-out from one of the Rosetta screensaver proteins, but using a screen-capture rather than physically recording the montiors?

Yes you can use it within your dept. But keep checking back for updates.

Yeah I'm actually still playing with/thinking about that intro. I used to have this heavily composited thing and then cut it for something real simple. I guess the idea is that it is a picture of a 'home' computer (even thought it is my workstation in my office :). So, something abstract zooming out to a nice little desk setup. I'll play with the coloring and see if i can make it look more snazzy. Otherwise I'll have to think of something else.

are there any subtitles for this video? if not can someone make a subtitle in english pls because i dont know how to arrange the time sequences.
after i can take the file and translate it into my own language. it would be easier for the newbies to understand.

Great video; that's really good. I hope you manage to get it "out there" and seen by as many people as possible.

I made a fancy new title sequence and also switched around 2 of the interviews so that the 'why you should care' bits are 25 sec in! David Baker and I are also working on a better explanation of the screensaver, which will be recorded soon. I have this guy working on a soundtrack as well :)

It's lookin great Laura.

One thing I noticed - ~56s in there's the antibodies binding to the virus and then the virus can't bind to the cell. I don't think it's clear what's happening there for non- biologists. Could you label the cell and then put a written description saying that the antibodies are stopping the virus binding with the cell?

I figured that was covered with 'antibodies incapacitate virus' but maybe not. maybe i'll put an extra line in.
