To make some installations easier, is it possible to do the following?
1/ Make an installer which installs boinc with some parameters (so it installs boinc without asking the questions for the type of installation etc etc)
I have found already this one, so it looks like it is possible ... http://boinc.berkeley.edu/win_install.php

2/ But also attach automatically the Rosetta project.

This would make for example network installations easier...

I've done that in linux. I have a directory with the unpacked boinc dist, and I added:

account_boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta.xml
get_project_config.xml
global_prefs.xml
gui_rpc_auth.cfg
lookup_account.xml

which I took from a working boinc directory. Note that gui_rpc_auth.cfg is the password for the boinc manager. It can be edited to have a short password, or it can be an empty file to allow access without a password.

To install this on a linux computer, I just copy this directory and set up boinc to start on bootup with the -allow_remote_gui_rpc switch (to allow the boinc manager to be run from another computer).

There's probably something in the wiki about this, but I haven't looked.

Hi! I don't have admin access to my office's desktop. Is it possible to setup without using the installer? eg. copying the whole folder from another pc to this one? This is because I've tried doing this but it can't connect to the server... :(

This is my pc but due to the MIS department, we new people are not given admin priviledge.

Please help. Thanks.

It sounds like this is the company's computer and you are allowed to use it. If that is the case then you must get permission, in writting, from the company to run any DC client on it, even if it is one that you can install.
