Dare I say it? "Join ESEA (Earth Space Exploration Agency"? Ups, now I did it. Oh well, go ahead and join us - try clicking on the sig, click Join, then add rosetta to your project list, then click Join right by rosetta at the project list - then you're with a great team ;)

Join Team MacAddict!

We're the biggest! Um, no, we only have 12 members...

We're the most productive! Um, no, I'm #1 in the team with only 10,000 credits...

We're the most active! Um. Well, we _have_ a forum. Somewhere. I think...

We use Macs! Okay, that's enough reason. JOIN US! :-)

Rosetta@China team!

Welcome!

One thing you might like to know, if you have team names for each project, you will not be able to get combined statistics for all the work across BOINC.

If you had one team name that was the same (exactly the same, same capital letters, same spaces, same punctuation) on all projects you would be able to get a single stats banner across all projects.

At present you can get separate banners, like these:

There is already a combined BOINC@China team on some projects, and the credits for several projects can then appear all in one place:

It is no problem to keep separate teams on each project if that is what you prefer, it is your choice whether having combined stats is interesting to you.

You and all your members are very welcome whatever team names you choose.

Hi River,

I came from the biggest site in China about all those @home projects - www.equn.com.

We adopt this kind of team names (project name followed by '@China') because:

We're also participating many other non-BOINC projects, so it's hard to select a general team name for all these project.
The '@China' style is so cool, just like '@home':)

Thanks for your advice anyway, I like your profile ;)

Team Phoenix Rising was formed by a disenchanted few members from other Teams, realizing that the only way to be in a Team they were happy with was to start a new one.
The name was not chosen, it more or less just happened... the new Team was indeed a Phoenix rising from the ashes and we are proud of our Team.
We have our own forums courtesy of Mincer, where you can drop in for a beer and recant wild stories filled with wondrous exploits, or slide into the Mos Eisley Cantina to talk about total... well, whatever you want. He's put a huge amount of effort into getting the forums up & running, and he knows how greatly appreciated it is.
We are a dedicated bunch of crunchers, a lot of us having been in the project from it's early stages... so don't be shy, drop into the forums and say Hi...

Founded by computer geeks who enjoy the active Anandtech forums, TeAm Anandtech is a large team with a family feel. People help each other out not only with DC, but in real life as well.

We participate in almost every DC project available and try to have as much fun as possible. We have races between teammates and mini-team races as well. There is no pressure to crunch any particular project, just crunch the project(s) that you feel are best for you.

Come by our forums and see for yourself.

Once again, British Columbia makes the headlines for being at the cutting edge of dealing with tough social issues, as shown in this article from News of the Weird:

Andrew Uitvlugt, candidate for mayor of Kelowna, British Columbia, proposed in November to coax drug addicts into public jobs, such as trash collection, by rewarding them with crack cocaine, on the theory that the work would be so fulfilling that they would ultimately decline the drugs. (He finished fourth out of five candidates.) [Calgary Herald, 11-11-05; Vancouver Sun, 11-20-05]
