Hello all!
I just wanted to let the mods and staff know that this coming Sunday(9PM-EST Saturday,June 17-11PM-EST Sunday,June18) The XtremeSystems team is going to try and put a huge load on your servers once again.
We're shooting for a One Million Point day.
The team has been averaging app 500,000 a day and I came up with this idea to see what we can do.
The guys are behind it and we're bringing in members from parts of our forum that have never been into DC before.
You'll see benchmarks from machines you won't beleive at first but they are true!We are talking machines that will get a combined drystone and wetstone of over 40,000 million ops/sec. There will be conroe processors running at speeds above 4000mhz running at -100C on "cascades" or high end phase change.
This is the next generation of cpu's and it is a huge leap in computational power over the xeons and opty's of today.
We're going to try and have some fun with this and motivate as many members as possible.
We may fall flat on our face with this. That's a possibility but we will give it our best shot.
I will guarantee you that it will be a new high one day record for any team. That I am sure of.
Keep in mind that the XtremeSystems forum is not a DC forum but an overclockers forum and our Rosetta team is but a small part of the total so it's taken a lot of "motivating" to get these speed demons to move even for a day of crunching. Yes, clubs, hammers and whips have been used as motivational tools!<BG>
I wasn't sure if Jose had mentioned this and I wanted to make sure you knew and had the LN2 ready to cool your switches and servers.
Thanks for your time,
Dave

I wish you all many succes with this project.

I wished DPC could get something like this done, but even a Stampede won't give this much output.

Thank you for the kind wishes! We may need some of you guys from DPC before that day is over! <BG>
I've been PM'ing the membership at XS till my 2 typing fingers are blue. I figured that we have to add the equivialiant of 500 Dell P4-3000's to what we can normally do to make the million..
Cross your fingers!

We at XtremeSystems are having a 1 Million day. We are going for 2x our daily output .Any team can go for a fun Double or triple output day. The idea is to get more people crunching and more machines involved and have fun in the process.

So get the cows organized for a double production day. Tell bubbles I have his voodoo doll ready if he needs it.
