CPU throttling to around 50% on Windows 10

dcdc Send message Joined: 3 Nov 05 Posts: 1829 Credit: 115,876,923 RAC: 60,948	Message 78520 - Posted: 30 Jul 2015, 21:48:41 UTC Hi I've updated a machine to Win10 today (i5 Sandy Bridge laptop so 2 cores and 4 threads) and have done a fresh install of BOINC 7.4.42. The Rosetta threads were spiking to full CPU use and then dropping massively, resulting in around 50% idle CPU. BOINC 7.6.6 (x64 version) has fixed this - it's running at 100% now. There'll be a lot of machines updating to Win10 over the next days and weeks so this could be bad for productivity, assuming it's not just my machine playing up... dcdc Send message Joined: 3 Nov 05 Posts: 1829 Credit: 115,876,923 RAC: 60,948	Message 78522 - Posted: 31 Jul 2015, 17:13:47 UTC I've just updated a desktop to Win10 and also updated BOINC from 7.2.42 to 7.4.42 and it seems fine so far, although this CPU is a desktop Pentium so it doesn't do throttling which was the problem on the laptop.
