I really like this screen saver, but how are the graphics created, by the cpu, or gpu. the reason why i ask, is that i really want to have the screen saver running, but, i don't if it is going to slow down the time it takes to return a resuilt. like in the old SETI @home. the screensaver took like 5 or 6 times as long to do it with the screensaver then with out.
Victory is the ONLY option!

Morning. . An earlier thread talked about this and said the screen saver is set to not take more than 10% of cpu resources. If you have one, it will offload this to the graphics processor.

And as a followup to that, while 10% is the theoretical maximum CPU power that will be dedicated to graphics, in practice it'll be a lot lower than that. I'd be surprised if it hits 0.1%. Modern day GPU's have more flops available than any CPU on the market, and are designed to do the 3d graphics efficiently, so it really does make sense to offload the majority of the work to the GPU.

You'll get it with rosetta client 4.80 WUs, or if you have a big cache you might have a graphics beta client.

How big is your cache? If you have a larger cache, then you'll have to crunch all the 4.79 client WUs first...

Looks like your current w/u was downloaded on the 25th. Your next w/u *should* have the screensaver.

Is the screensaver (BTW, I like it very much) only for Windows users or will the Linux users have the pleasure to see it too ?
Thanks.
