I haven't seen any sign of any involving Rosetta@home, but one of my neighbors recently asked me to do a web search for information that might help one of her relatives with ALS.

Since the research was done in Japan, where methylcobalamin is the form of vitamin B12 normally used in vitamin B12 supplements, it's not clear if the cyanocobalamin form normally used for vitamin B12 supplements in the US will produce the same results for everyone. Indicates that the form they tested will slow down, but not stop, ALS. Has a few links to other research papers on ALS.

I haven't checked if the ironjustice posting there is the same ironjustice I've seen posting elsewhere about his idea that excess iron in the blood is the major cause of diabetes, but with inadequate scientific backing. For the few with hemochromatosis, this appears to be true; but I've been unable to find any scientific reports saying this is also true for the others with diabetes.
