I'm just a nobody that wants to provide compute power for COVID treatment. Current vaccines, while technically impressive and revolutionary, are inadequate.

3. Compression level or algorithm needs to be more aggressive. I think zip is currently used but 7z, lzma, or gzip, with level 6 would offer a substantial bandwidth savings (est 30-40%) with only an insignificant increase in overhead on modern systems when packing up the final data and decompressing incoming work. Rosetta alone uses about 1.5 GB of data PER DAY on my dedicated boinc-processor network. This absolutely destroys my 22 GB data cap and I'm forced to take my systems offline every month.
