This stuck download problem is also affecting tasks for Android

Task named rb_01_18_478545_475140_ab_t000__robetta_cstwt_5 has been stuck with 4 files pending in multiple download retries for almost 8 hours on my Android device.

Too bad the staff and persons responsible for admin of the project are unreachable by us common users.

How can I get a proper certificate for their damned download server?

There's nothing you can do except wait for them to 'fix' the problem... The problem doesn't seem to be anything on your PC's.

Based on others error logs and reporting, the problem apparently is with Rosetta servers/certificate or something in between.

As usual, i wrote a tweet to R@H account.

But my questions are: are R@H servers unattended? Is possible, in Boinc server, activate triggers to warn admins in case of problems??

I think you will be waiting indefinitely for a reply.

How can I make it stop? I have been a long time supporter of RH, but will disconnect from the project if it keeps wasting my bandwidth with 2GB failed downloads.

Temporarily STOP REQUESTING NEW WORK FOR THE PROJET by settling NO NEW WORK for Rosetta on your PC(S) in BOINC until the project fixes the problem.

It's in their DNA: Nobel Prize in chemistry goes to pioneers of the CRISPR gene-editing tool
Emmanuelle Charpentier, Jennifer Doudna will split $1m+ winnings

Two biochemistry professors who led the groundbreaking development of CRISPR, the controversial "genetic scissors" DNA-editing tool, have been awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry.

“There is enormous power in this genetic tool, which affects us all. It has not only revolutionised basic science, but also resulted in innovative crops and will lead to ground-breaking new medical treatments,” said Claes Gustafsson, chair of the Nobel Committee for Chemistry, on Wednesday.

Possible ‘Breakthrough’ Coronavirus Treatment With Natural Protein Cuts Risk of Death and Serious Symptoms by 79%

An aerosol-based protein inhalant has been shown in trials to reduce the risk of death from SARS-CoV-2 and reduce the chance of developing serious symptoms by 79% compared to patients given a placebo.

Results also showed that patients were more than twice as likely to make a full recovery from Covid-19, meaning they had no lasting respiratory weakness or other damages.

First COVID-19 vaccine tested in US poised for final testing
The first COVID-19 vaccine tested in the U.S. revved up people’s immune systems just the way scientists had hoped, researchers reported Tuesday -- as the shots are poised to begin key final testing.

... The experimental vaccine, developed by Fauci’s colleagues at the National Institutes of Health and Moderna Inc., will start its most important step around July 27: A 30,000-person study to prove if the shots really are strong enough to protect against the coronavirus.

A new coronavirus mutation is taking over the world. Here's what that means.
... A new paper, published July 2 in the journal Cell, argues that the rise in the "G" variation of the new coronavirus is due to natural selection. The study finds that virus particles with this mutation have an easier time making their way into cells, suggesting that it is outcompeting other strains of the virus to become the dominant version of SARS-CoV-2.

Bald men might be at greater risk of dying from COVID-19, studies say. Here’s why:
International researchers studying global data on COVID-19 patients have found that in general, the more male hormones called androgens someone has, the easier it is for SARS-CoV-2 to enter and take over their immune systems.

And bald men have more of these hormones than men with full manes, and women.

Security warning: State-backed hackers are trying to steal coronavirus research

Joint warning from UK National Cyber Security Centre and US Department of Homeland Security warns that cyberattackers are actively targeting healthcare with a variety of hacking tricks.

Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups – sophisticated hacking groups generally linked to a nation-state – are looking to get hold of information about national COVID-19 responses, healthcare research or other sensitive data related to coronavirus, and are targeting organisations in sectors including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, academia, medical research and local government, says the joint advisory.

or is something else going on??

You are using a VERY OLD VERSION of BOINC and has an EXPIRED SECURITY CERTIFICATE..

To fix , DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL LATEST Windows x64 VERSION of BOINC 7.16.5 from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.16.5_windows_x86_64.exe

NOTE: Your Linux host has the most recent recommenced version and does not need updating at this time.

I'm fairly sure I saw a "new server version" message a short while ago - might be significant if multiple projects are showing this symptom.

<edit>
Just seen another stuck download. Oddly, the files that I see "stuck" always seem to be really small... makes me wonder if some buffer is not being filled and an end point is either missing or not seen. Anyone seeing BIG files stuck?
</edit>

So far, have not seen any BIG files stuck - only small files and ONLY "zip" extensions,

The stuck file never does download for me.
I can go about 3 or 4 days then get a new stuck file with similar name and have to kill the TASK to clear the stuck file.
If I kill the stuck FILE the task never gets removed from task list on PC.
