You're probably right. I tried potchine once and I used to be a nuclear scientist, now I struggle with BOINC upgrades ;)
lol..thought that was the martini from M*A*S*H
Potchine (91%) Also good as a paint stripper ;)

ahh, now you sound like a true purist that knows his stuff!
so ale is not really strong, but just enough to warm you up.
i can't handle anything much over 2% unless its really diluted.
was raised as a non drinker, so my college days were experimented with bartles and james wine coolers and later on occasions a coke and rum heavy on the coke.

Ah now, you are talking different beers here.

Real ale is real ale up to about 4.5% on average. Barley wines are something entirely different.

There used to be Watneys Stingo, and Youngs Winter Warmer etc but I think they have gone now. Barley wines are a cross between strong beer and spirits which have not really caught on in the UK. Same thing happened to Merrydown Cider which used to be sold in "nips" in the 70's (7.5%).

Your machines are hidden. Are they Windows? Linux? Mac?

Go to the advanced view to the tasks tab. What is shown for the status? Perhaps "waiting for memory"?

I had this after upgrading to the more recent version of boincmanager. They tended to default to using 50% of memory, so I got work suspended with "waiting for memory". I have the memory setting at 95% when working and 100% when not. Never had a "waiting for memory" since.

These are Windows XP service pak 2 and the status is "Suspended - CPU Benchmarks". I see that when I open advanced view but if I wait a min. or two the task begins to run otherwise it will hang like that indefinately.

Yes, I have Windows XP pro SP2. Do you have the latest version of BOINC 5.10.28? It's fixed some bugs since the previous release 5.10.20 and could resolve your problems.

Regarding the graphs.

Have them represent what Team England or Seti members are doing FOR Roestta. NOT what they are doing for Seti or whoever. The graphs with the label Seti are upsetting to Rosetta sole crunchers, even if they were as examples for whatever.
That is how this whole flaming session got started as well as with the words Seti in the topic.

Regarding the graphs.

How about if you look at the title of the thread and keep out of it if you're not interested? Team England crunch Rosetta and do exciting things like crunch in other projects as well. Nobody is flaming here. Unless you are trying to start something.

I just wanted to point out that this thread was not deleted, nor even moved to the Cafe. So I would have to say that reflects a degree of tolerance on the part of the project.

I appreciate your comments Mod.Sense. For the record I was crunching here a year before Team England established an 'official' presence in Rosetta@home. I've also been crunching in other projects, some before Team England established an 'official' presence. Participation in Rosetta@home and other BOINC projects is what we advocate in Team England, but we don't give subjective views about which projects should not be crunched.

I started this thread, the stats below are mine, and I feel no shame for having gained them, or for my support in contributing to Team England, or for supporting SETI@home as well as Rosetta@home.

Is that a Yorkshire ale?

Have you ever try a cannabis beer?
Most continental beers are of the lager type which are fine in their own way, but you can't beat a pint of a decent British real ale,
such as Fullers ESB etc. And NO, it's not warm and flat!!!

Thank you very much for your interest. If anyone does organize a Gauntlet for Rosetta, I'm sure that Team England will be organizing a Sideshow for Rosetta in no time. Maybe you'd like to organize something yourself even...

Please join our Sideshow to the Kings International Gauntlet 2007.

Team England were too late to enter the Gauntlet and have decided to support the Gauntlet by having a SETI Sideshow. All teams are welcome to join us.

The Team England SETI Sideshow will run in parallel to the Gauntlet and will start on Sunday the 4th of November 2007 at 20:00 hrs GMT+1 and will end at Sunday the 18th of November 2007 at 20:00 hr GMT+1.

At the beginning of each day, starting on 4th November, we and any other team who wishes to join the Sideshow, will publish a snapshot of the boincstats at 20:00, an example below;

It will be a simple matter of taking away the previous days total from the latest to determine how many credits the team has added in the past day, and to keep a cumulative total with an overall total at the end of the Sideshow on 18th November.

There are no restrictions of how many or can crunch for SETI during the Sideshow, and even new joiners during the Sideshow can contribute.

Please join us and support Team England for the two week period if you wish. Attach to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu in the Boinc manager. If we can't be in the gauntlet, then let's support it by crunching as much as we can in the Sideshow.

For other teams, all you need to do to enter is to say that your team is in, and to publish a snapshot of your boincstats each day at the agreed time and keep your daily, cumulative and final credit scores. It's all for a bit of fun and to give SETI a bit of a boost. Oh, and may the best team win ;)
