I think it was a problem with those FOLD_AND_DOCK_SUBSYSTEM WUs. I just aborted all of mine, and got new units with a different name. Now everything is working fine.

It was, indeed a FOLD_AND_DOCK_SUBSYSTEM WU, although at least one FOLD_AND_DOCK finished satisfactorily. Since then, several more WUs started and uploaded. I looked at the log and there were the two lines about this WU when it started. Nothing about ever pausing it. Oh well, the CPU ate it. I hope it enjoyed it.

Ya, I've had some finish just fine too. But I think that most of them require > 750MB of RAM, and therefore they run into computation errors when boinc tries to throttle their memory usage.

A little more info on this problem. I think it might be bad work units actually. It seems to be happening to me only on the work units that start: gp04_BOINC_SYMM_FOLD_AND_DOCK_SUBSYSTEM-gp04

I'm having a serious problem with memory usage. My laptop was running SUPER slow, so I lowered the max memory usage to 50% (which should be 500MB), but now none of the work units will run; they all just say "Waiting for memory" and never start.

And on my desktop (dual core) I've got two processes of Rosetta running that are each using ~750MB of RAM. 1.5GB of RAM is WAY to much for rosetta to be using. I've got 2GB of RAM, and right now I'm at 3.5GB of page file used. This needs to be changed ASAP, because it's making all my computers unusable, or unable to participate in Rosetta.

*edit* actually, I think this might be a memory leak. when I open Task Manager I'm now seeing 50-100MB memory usage for each instance of Rosetta. But I still have < 100MB of free memory and > 3.5GB page file usage (this is on a fresh install of windows, so there's nothing else using up my memory).

Rosetta is using > 700MB of RAM, which is all the available RAM on my laptop. I tried to change the preferences to use only 30% of my RAM, but it's ignoring them. How do I fix this? I had to disable BOINC because it's making my computer unusable.

I figured out what part of the problem was, I need to update with Rosetta to get the new prefs; not just with BAM.

But now I have a new problem, all of my work units are getting a Computation Error. Is this because Rosetta can only run if it has > 500MB of RAM for it to use?

Is there a banner that I can put on my MySpace to advertise Rosetta?
