My gpus are working for fah at the moment. Fah got a very good publicity and companies started to dedicate thousands of gpus to the project. Everybody is talking about fah, they have an unbelievable computing power. Servers crahed due to high demand but big companies started to support their servers too. They are back online and crunching at an incredible rate. Good for humanity.

As I know they have in house machines too. Probably they are assigning urgent work units to in house machines and other to 7/24 online machines. It's not hard to prioritize urgent workunits.

However total computing power they have is more important than prioritizing. The should attract more volunteers.

Maybe they are sending previously failed wus only. There is not much new work units available. I hope that they are about the release a new version and thats why they slowed down the wus.

They might be working on a software update or smth. While waiting I started to crunch WCG cancer markers and folding@home.

I don’t see premature end when I check boinc. They start from 0 to 100 and takes about 24hours to complete. When the work unit is sent I get low points.

All my devices generates similar results.

1) imac
2) macbook pro
3) ryzen 9 3900x
4) 2 x intel workstations.

There are no similar hardware and they are in different locations too.

You say it's rare but almost all of my wus are like that,. should I fix smth with my boinc setup or smth? I need to browse 4 pages of results to find smth over 1000points. When I check details all of them says watchdog ended. Strangely all my computers are same.

I couldnt find such low points at my last wus but here is another sample. Similar calculations times with huge point differences.

folding@home has many cpu only work units too. When asked fah says the same thing, not all projects are suitable for gpu folding. maybe its too hard for them to code a gpu version.

You can dedicate your gpu to folding@home and cpu to rosetta. Thats how I use my resources for a long time.

I didn't have errors either. They are not active and doesn't share much info about the updates but according to the news and their twitter account research goes well. so as long as it helps the science I will keep crunching. I think rosetta is probably the most valuable boinc project. there are many good projects but rosetta seems to be the most effective to change our lifes in the short term.

Thank you for the link. I try to make cash donations time to time. I donated some over this project too. I hope this donations speeds up the project.

Hello,

I noticed point diffrences. Some work units works on a single core for 24 hours and gets 60 points some others about 1000. As I see points are not calculated on time basis. Those results are also belongs to the same computer so its not about the hardware either.

If you want to support Institute of Protein Design and help the to test drug candidates you can donate cash from the following link.

I was looking for a way to make a donation and I made my donation.

You are the reason for me to run rosetta@home. Untill I saw those posts of you I was thinking rosetta and bakerlab was nothing near folding@home. This forum, rosetta offical twitter account all are silent and thought they are not producing any valuable papers etc. Now I just switched some of my cpus from folding@home to rosetta@home at the moment.

I just found their ipd account on twitter. I used to follow rosetta@home account which is on the front page and it’s last post is in 2017.

They should update the twitter account on their page.

Thats a good news. I think ipd should share more encouraging news like that. And it would be better to share more research info about the projects if they want to increase active members. Rosetta project is a little silent and that cause a decrease in active members.

I would like to see updates more often too. And It would be a good idea to select cause. For example I’m running folding@home for cancer and I would like to research for cancer in rosetta too.

And I really wonder if those researches will have a short term effects on drug discovery etc.

folding@home used to have ps3 client but it's retired. Don't know why but it might be because of the heat problem.

Hello,

I try to participate rosetta but it keeps sending large wu on last day which is not even possible to deliver the work unit on time.

I see that only on rosetta I have a i7 gaming laptop but its not possible to complete work units even if the computer is on for 24/7 on full speed

i guess superlink has done that before..

Credits or rankings are not important for us we only need to track how many people we reached and how many of them actively participating in the project.

If you figure out an easy way how to track the results plz let me know. And thank you for .msi tip. I will try to learn more about it..
