Despite being considered one of the most gentle and intelligent creatures on the planet, thousands of dolphins are still captured or killed every year. The drive hunts see hundreds of the mammals chased, rounded up and slaughtered over a period of hours or even days, while others are dragged away to be sold for up to $100,000 each to marine parks around the world. In the Japanese fishing village of Taiji, fishermen are rounding up and slaughtering hundreds and even thousands of dolphins right now. After driving pods of dolphins into shallow coves, the fishermen kill the dolphins, slashing their throats with knives or stabbing them with spears. Thrashing about, the dolphins take as long as six minutes to die. The water turns red with their blood and the air fills with their screams. This brutal massacre — the largest scale dolphin kill in the world — goes on for six months of every year. Even more shocking, the captive dolphin industry is an accomplice to the kill. As soon as Santa started walking down the street people began to point and say, "Look! It's that famous Christmas personality!" Santa rushed around a corner to hide. "It's my beard!" he thought. "They recognize me because of my long white beard!" So Santa went to a barbershop and had his beard shaved off. "I really look like everybody else now!" Santa thought. So he walked down the street with a big smile on his face. Suddenly a man shouted, "It's him! It's him! Look everybody!" Santa couldn't believe it. He was sure that no one would recognize him. So Santa walked up to the man and said, "How did you recognize me?" The man looked at Santa and said, "You? I don't know you, but isn't that four-legged guy with the big red nose behind you Rudolph?"

I'm afraid these boards just wouldn't be able to cope with all the sordid details that went on that weekend!;o) Some of us even managed to go and watch Leicester play their last home game against Leeds. If you send a mail here I'll fill you in on all the rest...are you brave enough?:o) ....but to answer your question, No, we didn't get chance to go to the Space Centre, I think the pubs got in the way, but we did go to the Noodle Bar...does that count?
