Here is my 32-bit Windows 7 Beta 1 host computer. Let's hope everything will work well.
Pretty soon I will also test 64-bit Windows 7 Beta 1 with Rosetta@home.

Hello,
I am running Rosetta@home on 2 computers with installed Windows 7 Ultimate Beta. It is running well. I am happy with the beta OS.

Hello!

Now I have 64-bit Windows 7. Rosetta@home seems to work.

Henri.

Eric Korpela has said that X800XL is good enough to crunch (for SETI@home). See this message. Is he right?

I think your best bet is to post on the F@H GPU forum a couple days before you plan on buying the card. You should get some good suggestions there, especially when more is known about how the cards behave. People will post the time it takes per percentage, which is very consistent. An X1650 takes almost exactly 20mins/% (different manufacturers sometimes produce the card with different specifications, so those may take more or less time)

Ok. Thanks! I will.

Why would anyone have his/her account deleted? I just do not get it. If you do not want to crunch, just detach from the project in the BOINC Manager. That is it. If you have a profile and you hate it, edit/delete it.

Thanks for the info!

PS. What forthcoming 3D card should I buy to get the best crunching performance? I will buy a new 3D card probably in the beginning of 2008.

BTW, thanks for posting this thread, I had forgotten to check for a newer version and was just thinking of RAH updates not BOINC updates lately.

No problem. :)

There are many changes that cannot be seen with the naked eye. I think that the Benchmark system has been changed, so using older versions of BOINC would give you wrong amount of credits.

Oh boy! Why not? ;(

At least, this is a modern 3D card with a large memory and PCI Express. Will they ever make a GPU app for this 3D card model?

Hi!

I know this is not the right forum to ask Folding@home questions, but the Folding@home forum isn't working at the moment.

I have Club3D Radeon X800XL (512MB) PCI Express graphics card. Can I use Folding@home's GPU app? Can you give me the link to the correct GPU app? Does the GPU app use also CPU for crunching? I would like to leave the CPU for BOINC apps.

Thanks!

Once of the reasons for not using BOINC is they had their own DC setup (and in some aspects still a better setup than BOINC) client and they could customise it how they liked.
BOINC just gives nothing extra but a lot of restrictions.

Please, can you tell me more about the restrictions of BOINC?

Thanks! Good to know that. I wonder, what did they do with the results. Maybe they will one day continue Find-a-Drug as a BOINC-project??

Hi!

Will there ever be a distributed computing project to find new medicines against Asthma?

How good are the newest Asthma medicines? How much better than the medicines in the late 1980s?

Hi!

I was wondering, whether it is possible to use GPU (3D card) to crunch Rosetta@home packets, is it? At least, GPUs have very much computing power...
