However, I wanted to point out the fact that is a little bit "strange" don't perform a checkpoint operation during over 7 or 12 hours of work. Certainly there will be a reason for this, but in my opinion would be safer doing a checkpoint operation once in awhile.

In addition to the problems mentioned by Mad Max, I have also noticed that, during the 7 hours in which the WU has been run, no checkpoint operation was performed. I have a notebook and I can't let jobs running for such a long time without saving their work.
