It seems that I can definitely "show graphics", but that's only in a window, not in a screensaver. It's not a major issue to me, but at the same time, if it's working in a window it should surely be trivial to make it work as an Xscreensaver, so it's mildly annoying that there seems to be no option to do so. Hopefully there will be one soon, now that "show graphics" works. On the plus side, this project is great for seeing how hot my CPU can run!
