Got to your account page, Computing and Credit, Computers on this account, click on View, click on Details for the computer you are after, down the bottom somewhere (i think think it is) should be a Skip button.
No more Python work.

Thank you so much, last time I went to board for this in October this was not possible. I am very happy with this new feature :)

Tasks sometimes get stuck occupying a CPU slot indefinitely, until the deadline.
Tasks occupy much more RAM, on a Ryzen 5900x 64GB of ram is not enough to utilize the entire host.
KVM might not be available on Linux due to it being utilized by another hypervisor, this will make the tasks extremely slow (about 20 / 50 times slower).
The heavy I/O operations that start with the sudden downloads / start of the VMs cause Linux systems with NVMe SSDs to become unresponsive for half a minute at a time (this is due to polling vs interrupt based I/O).

I think it is absolutely undoubtedly necessary we get an option to disable vbox tasks in the computing preferences menu and will abort all vbox tasks until then (sorry).

I'm contemplating writing a script that will only ask for new tasks once the scheduler shows regular tasks are available as well.

I see vbox tasks also get stuck, not using any CPU at all, but still tricking BOINC into thinking it is still running (essentially occupying an unused CPU core indefinitely). This is the same as with LHC@home which has the exact same issue. Below is a screenshot of tasks like these.

An opt out for these tasks in my opinion is not a luxury but a necessity.

Read this post: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=88405 it appears you did not set it up correctly.

I don't want these tasks, I don't have virtualbox installed for Rosetta@home and I have no intention of running virtualbox tasks for Rosetta. In addition, I am not using windows and virtualbox is accessible using regular user accounts without sudo (administrator) privileges.

Almost if not all of the vbox tasks I don't abort are completing fine. These tasks (early 7 October) just failed as I updated the kernel (which unloads vbox kernel module) and did not reboot immediately (making the tasks fail in communicating with the hypervisor). Here is a vbox task that completed without issue on this machine as example: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=1434171117

Some details about my grievances:
The freezing happens primarily around starting, stopping task (suspending) tasks. I suspect this triggers some pretty heavy I/O. Which might be fine when there is 4 tasks but gets out of hand quickly when its 24. The tasks also incorrectly stop with 'waiting for memory', probably due to over provisioning of the virtual machines their memory. This is really annoying as I now can't reach 100% CPU utilization with these tasks even though BOINC is allowed to use 65% of 64GBs. I haven't seen memory utilization gone over 28GB which is not even close to the 65% of 64.

Hello the virtualbox tasks make my system unstable and regularly have it freeze for upwards to 2 minutes. I have tried to disable this task but there is no option to. Unfortunately this forces me to continually abort all of them as soon as they arrive. I really don't want to babysit tasks on my machine, appreciate if we could get this resolved asap.
