Unix/Linux :
Can't get rid of apparently empty task-results file
(Message 70118)
Posted 25 Apr 2011 by Jeffrey Quisenberry Post: I've had a Rosetta@home task that was supposedly completed on 08 Feb 2011. It's been marked "uploading" ever since, but its upload always generates the message: "Error reported by file upload server: EOF on socket read : asked for 16382, got 0" Many other Rosetta (and other projects') tasks have come and gone successfully since, so it's clearly a problem with this task. I tried suspending it, then resuming it; no change. I tried to abort it; the log reports it was aborted, but its status remains "uploading" and it doesn't go away. In /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta, I found a file matching the task name, whose size is 0 bytes. Given the read error above, that makes perfect sense. My question is: how do I get rid of this failed task? I'm leery of deleting sections of XML files unless I know everything I must remove or change to avoid messing up anything else. I'd hope there'd be some kind of cleanup command (or BOINC Manager menu-entry) that would eliminate damaged task files. Can anyone advise me? Thank you for your assistance. |
