This sounds like a good idea for a addon app.

Sid, are your estimated times going down? Closer to actual? If so it is working. As others have pointed out, letting it go into panic mode will get the estimates closer faster.

Also, what sort of time frame are you looking at for your resource balance? If its daily, then Bonic in general may be a lost cause for you, if its longer term balance, it will sort itself out over time.

As a side note SETI will futz with your completion times as well with the various angle ranges of the WU, and will be more pronounced when enhanced goes live.

Also a member of the TeAm. :)

Thanks for the news. While 99.9% of the science info is over my head, it is nice to know that progress is being made.

This sure turned out to be the little WU that could. Finally finished after 12+30 of CPU time.

So I'm guessing if anyone gets a WU that was generated before 4.82, be prepared for either shorter or considerably longer run times.

Have an interesting WU running here. Seems this little guy is doing his own thing.

http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/workunit.php?wuid=9350045

Running 4.82, run times have been set at 4 hours for quite some time now.

Its currently at 9+05 and climbing 59.1%. It is NOT stuck, it continues to advance. Currently on Model 5, step 202000 (and climbing).

This one should have completed long ago. I'm thinking that with the age of the WU, (I'm the third person to take a crack at it) that it pre-dates 4.82 and the selectable runtimes. So I'm guessing it is going to run with whatever it was set for by the project.

Will be interesting to see if it completes and how long it takes.

What happened to the biweekly science updates announced here: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_science_news.php ?

January 25, 2006

I will use this space to give biweekly updates on recent results and the work units planned for upcoming weeks.

Please don't let this project follow down the same road as others have with the falloff of communication.

Not sure if this WU is cursed or not. Three errors. This is the first WU that I've had die in a long time. Only change recently was to NOT have the WU remain in memory. Guess thats not quite fixed yet. Putting settings back to remain in memory to yes.

If at all possible, I'd like to re-run this WU on the same machine to see if it happens with the changed setting.
