No new work here, while there are enough WU's according to the server status.

It is going on for about a week now. All tasks ready and then not reported or new work.
Do a manual Update helps sometimes.
Now it says: Communication deferred 23:55:55 so a whole day.
This happened to me two times earlier in the last week or so. A manual update does not help, it only starts counting from 24 hours back again.
So the project won't my computers anymore. This project is troublesome for a very long time, years, and still the old server software.

My computers can do other work too.

I've noticed a couple of my boxes have gone idle, apparently at random, recently... it appears this is the cause:

765: 25-Nov-2014 13:57:26 (low) [rosetta@home] Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks.
766: 25-Nov-2014 13:57:26 (low) [rosetta@home] Reporting 2 completed tasks
767: 25-Nov-2014 13:57:26 (low) [rosetta@home] Requesting new tasks for CPU
768: 25-Nov-2014 13:57:29 (low) [rosetta@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
769: 25-Nov-2014 13:57:29 (low) [rosetta@home] No work sent
770: 25-Nov-2014 13:57:29 (low) [rosetta@home] Rosetta Mini for Android is not available for your type of computer.

This then puts the time for the next scheduler request off until at least the next day. I forgot to look for a specific time before I manually did a 'boinccmd --project update' but it's at least 24 hours.

I have noticed this too, since last week. Once I entered the room and there was no noise of running fans. Checking shows all Rosetta WU's ready and project back off for more than 16 hours. After manually updating, everything went smooth again. Has happend now 3 times on two different rigs.

Just what I thought another hick-up from Rosie. If your other project are communicating normally then no need to boot your PC. Let it sort out itself or try it manually at times.

Rosie had an issue as my files didn't report home. Server delay from 20 hours.
Seems to work again after manual intervention.

I'll look into the server upgrade. It will be a long process since there is a lot of R@h specific code. Priorities for now are first to release our android app and then to add a replica DB and upgrade the server code. The later may require significant down time so we need to plan this with the on going research projects in the lab. We also have to look into hardware upgrades.

Thank you, that would be great!

Yep, I'm currently optimizing the number of connections on all our servers. Looks like they can keep up without too much load/memory usage so far. These servers are pretty old and I'm sure we'll upgrade soon hopefully.

Not only new server but also new server code. The code running at the moment is very outdated.

Uploads for me are sill not working for about 70 hours now.
This maybe a problem form the university where the servers are maintained, but the server code is still from the 90's. It is old-dated for year already that is also debt to the low credits.

My rigs can't upload/download either. This project is becoming more and more frustrated. For weeks there where many errors in the WU's and now we can't upload and download for almost 24 hours,, as it started yesterday.

And do we get any answers, no off course not as usual.

I am considering another biology/medicine project to crunch for.

Some "benchmark_alex_metric" erros (after 2 h)

Erratum: A LOT of "benchmark_alex_metric" errors after 2h

We can keep posting about the erors but nothing changes, as ever here, we have to wait until all these crappy WU's are finished, or at least run at our systems while using energy but not contributing to science. It's a pity.

Errors keep flowing in, but no answer from the project guys as usual.
I have set it to very low priority.

It is more difficult to trace errors because the database does not allow see long names, to sort by status etc.

Yes and the server software is very obsolete, but no-one on this project does bother to update, as most other projects have several years back.

Lots of errors in the last days. Wing(wo)man have also errors, very occasionally they get one validated.
Part of error message:

Unhandled Exception Detected...

- Unhandled Exception Record -
Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x009B7DEB write attempt to address 0x00000000

Engaging BOINC Windows Runtime Debugger...

Hope this will be solved soon.
14) Message boards : Number crunching : Could there be a problem with the task scheduler? (Message 76573)

Since your computers are hidden I can only guess, but is it possible that your ghost problem has something to do with the issue described in this thread? If yes, resending those tasks won't help, but in general it's indeed a very useful feature.

Thanks Link, that explains.

There is still something wrong here, I got dozens and dozens of "ghost", as you call them.
There is no interruption in BOINC at my site. Fiber optics connection, up all the time, good throughput and no other project has any issue. Now my error rate has gone through the roof here.
Please update the obsolete and outdated server code.
I promised to stick with this project, but my other rigs are already crunching at Docking@home.

Hello, I have more tasks on my "Tasks for user" then in the BOINC tasks tab. Even set to no new tasks, so my list of tasks still in progress should become less, but doesn't seem to do so. I know we are working here with very old server code, but this is a bit weird. Do more people see this behavior?

I am seeing a lot of error in the past 24 hours, started early at February 13. It are "Compute error". As far I have seen they error out with wingman too, so it is something in the WU's. Can someone of the project look at this please? Thanks.

You shouldn't have to reset the project to get work. Your host(s) are hidden. Have you had a string of failed work units or some problems downloading?

No, the answers to both questions are no. This is what it said at Outcome: Client detached.

Even the WU´s that where still running on the rig were already Client detached.
The science done here is important, but sticking to the project becomes harder every time.

Task enough to run accordingly to the server status page but I am not getting any anymore. Do I need to reset the project again to get new tasks?

Guys when are you updating the obsolete server code of the project?
