Posted 23 Dec 2024 by MStenholm Post: I'm also having issues downloading eleven tasks I have at queue. I also run LHC@Home and have all my boinc traffic running through Squid Proxy. I'm getting the following in my Squid logs Your 11 task is on your Linux box so the 128.95.160.134 is not working for you, SSL certificate problems. You need to add 128.95.160.156 in your ect/hosts. Various solutions suggested in this thread. |

Turn off Virtualbox task from host details

Posted 7 Apr 2022 by MStenholm Post: Hi all As Grant wrote a few post above that option isn’t an option if you haven’t installed Virtual whatever. Sorry I’m a poor noob and have decided that I rather live with that message than investing in more memory and better SSds than going the VM way. I don’t have option. Period. |

Posted 1 Apr 2022 by MStenholm Post: A new batch of Rosetta 4.20 tasks are out atm, named YIL10mer_YILstub* It seems to be another batch that prefers Linux as I can see from my team members. I got two times 16 running on Linux about one hour in and as I can see the Windows ones errors out fast, seconds in. |

Posted 19 Mar 2022 by MStenholm Post: If you have virtualization and want to test your system, enable Python tasks, combine that with LHC ATLAS and your system will get a good work out. After reading yours and others problems with Python my 16 GB machine and my problem with programmers that give a f..k about our equipment that would never happen. I like that I can run decent timings on my memory and there is no way that I will invest $500 in RAM for the sole purpose to bring my SSD to a premature death. |

Posted 18 Mar 2022 by MStenholm Post: rb jobs seems to be made from a wide variety of people. The memory required can reach 1.6 GB or the more normal 300-500k MB. The current rb_03_18 is easy on the memory and on the CPU and the result is that the points is less then half of rb_03_17. My normal wall 230W is 155W and CPU is max 55, not the normal 63C. 3900X, 480 mm good cooling. I’m tempted to run 1 hr test run for the future and then pass the easy jobs to others. Due the the lack of job I will let the remaining jobs run to completion but Rosetta is mix bag of fun at best recently. WCG will be back soon…. |

The 14 movingstubs units ran the requested 8 hours on my 3900X. I can see that a new team member successfully completed his on Linux, but all were 3 hours. W3670. CPU and OS related? |

I know what you are doing but you have a long live ahead of you and someone ought to snap you out of that misconception. 7075/(60*60) = 1,96 hours, not 196 minutes. 1,96 hour = 1 hour and 0,96*60/100 = 57.6 minutes 60+57.6 =117,6 minutes |

Posted 26 Aug 2021 by MStenholm Post: Several of these tasks that are running for twice my set computation time and not checkpointing to boot. I hope I get some sort of credit for these. I noticed 5 exceeding or were about to the 8 hours in the same series last night. I aborted them and around 30 others as well. Today I noticed that I did get points for the ones that did run 6-10 hours but only up to the 8 hours. |
