Discussion on increasing the default run time
(Message 61792)
Posted 16 Jun 2009 by mike46360 Post: We are planning to increase the default run time from 3 hours to 6 hours and the minimum from 1 to 3 hours to reduce the load on our servers. I increased the run time from 3 hours to 6 hours last night.. Does this help the folding at all or is it just to ease the pain on the servers? |

Fetching no GPU work
(Message 61768)
Posted 15 Jun 2009 by mike46360 Post: Has there been any talk of even bringing GPU work to Rosetta? I would think bringing the power of GPU folding would benefit this project greatly if done right. |

Posted 20 Jan 2009 by mike46360 Post: I guess the talks of bringing Rosetta@Home to the Xbox 360 is a no go? I ask because I saw this longggg time ago: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entertainment/rosettahome-distributed-folding-coming-to-xbox-360-248072.php And a quote from the head guy behind Rosetta; "We have been discussing this idea with Microsoft quite a bit over the past several weeks; I will keep everybody posted." |

USERS WANT CRUNCH ON GPU WITH CUDA!!!
(Message 54449)
Posted 12 Jul 2008 by mike46360 Post: WE WANT CRUNCH! WE WANT CRUNCH! I don't think the Rosetta team has the resources to develop such a program.. Sadly I think the talks from Microsoft bringing the xbox 360 has failed also. |

Posted 7 Jun 2007 by mike46360 Post: I'm going to take a jab at this but my guess is Microsoft is waiting for new the chips in the 360 to come out before they release a folding program for it..? What i don't understand is if its open source why hasn't anyone even bothered to make a folding program of any sort for the 360? PS3 has a ton for it besides just folding@home Really sucks because my computer is not all that fast and buying a console is alot cheaper than buying a insane rig, but i have been folding every night espically when i go to bed, doing all i can at the moment :-) |
