No worries.

I'll leave Hardware to the Hardware guru's. All I know is my AMD machines work without any issues under Linux, and that's all that counts for me.

I've been crunching for years now, and hope in some small way that has helped.

cheers!

wrong the hd5970/6990 will only deliver 928/1275 GFLOP's double precision in a lab amd's cards also have buggy drivers the only good thing goes for amd is the fact that nvidia cripples there consumer cards if they didn't amd would be screwed

Why? I've been using AMD products since the 1990's. Why should I believe you that AMD (it's in CAPS, BTW) would be... how did you so eloquently put it.. "screwed"?

<rolls eyes>

Let me know when they die so I can throw away all my AMD machines.

Looks like they bettered my guess by two hours!

ALL SERVER LIGHTS ARE GREEN. NUMBER OF TASKS AVAILABLE AND IN PROGRESS ARE INCREASING. Now we just have to get over the performance hump of getting work to nearly 100,000 machines.

You called it Mod.Sense!

Glad to see everything is back up running; I'm also glad I was patient and didn't post anything I might look upon with regret later....

Wow, what an abrasive & rude reply. "move along" Nice. You'll go far with that attitude.

Rosetta mini 1.98 does have graphics working, at least on my machine. Perhaps someday you'll have your wish, and eye-candy will be forthcoming for the main application & the screen-saver. Somehow, I think you've made your wish clear... over.. and over... and over...

Enjoy your forum experience.

For some reason, users who don't care about graphics seem to think this thread is for them. It's not. It's for the users that use linux and want to see graphics. It's for the guys that make rosetta to remind them that there are some linux users who want the eye candy. For you users that look at a black and white screen all day, just move along, this thread is not for you.

I really hope the programmers for the project spend time getting the calculations correct and worry about the small stuff only while in the mens/ladies room.

I agree. And for those who want to "show your friends Rosetta folding proteins", keep in mind that 95% or more of the computing world does not use Linux, so odds are THEY will see them just fine on their machine - unless somehow you are only friends with other Linux users. I think the project team is allocating their resources just fine, thank you.

I run Linux Mint 7 (2.6.28-11), BTW

cheers from Canada
