Merging computers
(Message 46393)
Posted 16 Sep 2007 by mray Post: Do the computers have the same name? Sometimes that seems to help BOINC realize they are the same. The computer name is only visible to yourself so I can't tell if they are different. |

WU Problem Linux
(Message 44704)
Posted 5 Aug 2007 by mray Post: I was having this problem on a Linux Mepis box. I updated to the latest version of BOINC and the problem seems to be reduced or perhaps even fixed. I haven't caught it sleeping on the job in a while at least. I think I'll check my memory allocation though, I have seen that "Waiting for memory" error even though the machines should have plenty of meemory for the task. |

Communication deferred
(Message 35600)
Posted 27 Jan 2007 by mray Post: If the time frame is ridiculously long go to the projects tab and highlight the waiting project, then click "Update Now". That should initiate a connection and reset the timer. Sometimes, if the project is down a while, BOINC can up the communication delay to a ridiculous value, like a week or more. It's actually a bug that should be fixed in an upcoming version. |
