We updated our project to use SSL. The project URL has thus been changed to https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta. You can reattach the project using this updated URL at your convenience. Please post any issues regarding this update in the discussion thread.

The link doesn't work with my Android phone. BOINC version is 7.4.53. Do I need to download a new version?

Please post issues regarding Rosetta and Rosetta android 4.1+ application versions here.

No problem with the Android version, just the system requirement is a too high, 2GB of free RAM? That means at least I need to have a device with 4GB RAM. Of course u can say nowadays Android phones come with at least 4GB RAM, but I'm not gonna use a high end phone for crunching 24/7. I'm not out of my mind yet.

I have 1 phone with 4GB RAM, which I'm using for WCG's OPN. I also have 3 phones with 3GB RAMs but none of them can run Rosetta because none of them would have 2GB FREE. All 4 TV-boxes (Android 4.2.2), my major force to conquer WCG SCC, have 1GB RAMs. I said many many times that Android device is the fastest growing computational power in the world. 1.6Billion Android devices were manufactured in 2019 alone. However, if you can't scale down ur work unit and lower the system requirement, you are not gonna get anywhere with Android.

My Android phone still can't upload results. Someone posted a workaround for PC, download first and then upload, I tried, it doesn't apply to Android. Can't download new WU either. Anyone has any solution? Does the administator know about this?

Working seamlessly for me, even before changing anything at my end. What version of Boinc is on your Android device? Are you attached to Rosetta with http or https?

I don't know. Chose the project from the BOINC list, version is 7.4.53

I'm not sure how you can tell on Android, I looked on mine and it's very limited with information.

Best just to upgrade to the new version of Boinc.

This is the latest Android version unless I use the BETA. Anyway, I deleted Rosetta from the only phone that can run it. So long, Rosetta.

Hi,
it seems the same behavior on my android too.
For windows I modify the cr-bundle.crt and delete the entry for AddTrust. Now Windows works again.

How can I fix it for Android?

Same here. Not working with Android.
7) Questions and Answers : Android : Covid19 WU run for 31+ hrs (Message 95187)

No such info for a phone. But I get the link for the WUs.

The previously 99.4% one is now at 99.5% after another night of crunching but is already pass deadline after 38hrs. The other WU finished and the result was handed over but now listed as 'computational error'. The CPU of the phone is 64bit/4core/1.3GHz/6GB storage left. I use 2 out of 4 cores and put the phone at a cool place while cruching so temperature shouldn't be a problem. Also, the phone is set to automatically clear every other app but BOINC when the screen shut down after 2 mins. BOINC is on a white list so it stays crunching no matter what.

Anyway, I'm going to abort the WU and try one more. If it still can't generate proper result, I have no choice but abanden crunching for R@H.

I have two Covid19 related WUs in one of my phones. One of them has been running for more than 31 hours. It is at 99.4% for quite sometime now. The other WU is at 75% after 9hrs, which is Ok though, I guess. In the meantime, the BOINC app grew to more than 3GB large. Before crunching for Covid19, it usually was less than 300MB running WCG WUs. Is this normal? What's going on?

A Windows XP pc connected to internet? A Pentium 4? Yeah.... well.... the problem seems self explanatory, too old...
Windows XP is horribly unsecure, at least switch to Linux.

Well. I'm currently living at my dad's place and this is his PC, the only one I can have. It still can run WUs from WCG and Asteroid@Home. The problem is not how powerful the PC is. It's why current Rosetta WUs don't work with it? Compatible issue? A month ago there was no problem, even my older PC, a PIII/WinXP, run Rosetta WUs pretty well.

. . They have revised the app from 4.07/4.08 to 4.12. This new version asks a bit more from the hardware and seems to be a bit of a memory hog, see the thread on use of memory and Rosetta. I have an i5 with 8GB ram and I have had problems getting it to run reliably. But there may be another cause.

Stephen

?

8G RAM? Well, that means it can only be run in x64 systems. Ok, bye bye Rosetta.

Hi, my old P4/WinXP machine started to receive some WUs about COVID19 (Rosetta 4.12) but all of them could not execute. The message said 'Computation Error'. Then another WU was downloaded and the same thing happened again. Is this because of Windows XP?
